Claims
The present invention relates to a process for preparing a compound of formula (2). The present invention further relates to a process for preparing pyroxasulfone of formula (1) using said compound of formula (2).
1. A process for preparing a compound of formula (2) characterized in that it comprises: reacting a compound of formula (3) with a formylating agent and a compound of formula (4) or a salt thereof, at a temperature below 20ºC.
6. A compound of formula (2) characterized in that it is substantially free of 4,4'-methanediylbis[1-(methyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazol-5-ol] of formula (5) or tautomers thereof.
8. A process for preparing Pyroxasulfone of formula (1), characterized in that said process comprises: a. reacting a compound of formula (3) with a formylating agent and a compound of formula (4) or a salt thereof, at a temperature below 20°C to obtain a compound of formula (2); and b. converting said compound of formula (2) into Pyroxasulfone of formula (1).
