CARBON DIOXIDE SEPARATION PLANT USING CARBON DIOXIDE AS A REFRIGERANT IN A REFRIGERATION CIRCUIT, AND METHOD

Abstract

The system comprises a heat exchanger where combustion gas containing carbon dioxide flows in heat exchange with streams of chilled carbon dioxide. The combustion gas is cooled, and the carbon dioxide condensed by heat exchange is removed from the combustion gas. The condensed carbon dioxide is partially processed in a refrigeration circuit and used as a coolant in the heat exchanger, while some is removed as a CO₂ product.
