Abstract

There are provided a lubricant composition capable of suppressing wear and the like in a steel bearing portion under harsh conditions, and a rolling bearing using the lubricant composition. The lubricant composition 7 is used for a bearing portion made of steel, contains an inorganic sodium salt, has a natural potential of steel in an aqueous solution at 25°C in which the inorganic sodium salt is dissolved at a concentration of 1 mass% of 0.04 V or higher, the inorganic sodium salt contains at least one selected from sodium molybdate and sodium sulfite, and the lubricant composition further contains a sorbitan-based ester or zinc alkyldithiophosphate.
