Decompression system for an engine

Abstract

A decompression system (200) for an engine (100), comprising: at least two valves per cylinder (202, 204) of the engine, a camshaft (206) having at least two cam lobes (206b, 206c) for actuating respective cylinder valves (202b, 204b); a decompression unit (210) is mounted centrally on the camshaft (206) between the camlobes (206b, 206c). Further, the decompression unit (210) includes first housing part (212) and a second housing part (214), the first housing part (212) and second housing (214) part are joined using fastening means (216).
