[0040] The descriptions that follow are given by way of example and are not limiting to the scope of the invention and will make clearer the subject matter of this patent application.
[0041] In a first object, the present invention provides an ergonomic chair. The chair of the invention has a seat assembly (20) associated between a backrest assembly (10) and a base assembly (30). In one embodiment, the chair is rotatable by means of the base assembly (30) which has a star base with casters.
[0042] The backrest assembly (10) is fixed to the seat assembly (20) connected to the base assembly (30). For this purpose, the backrest (10) and seat (20) assemblies have structures inside them that receive the chair's upholstery, aiming at user comfort. In one embodiment, the chair structures are made of metallic material. In one embodiment, the chair structures are made of polymeric material. In one embodiment, the chair structures are made of a combination of metallic and polymeric materials. With this, the structures together with the chair's upholstery define ergonomic curves. Additionally, the upholstery has a soft finish.
[0043] Based on this, in one embodiment, the chair of the invention is an adaptation of a highway bus seat. From this, the present invention provides greater durability of the chair and greater comfort to the user seated for a long period. Furthermore, flat components make up the chair's structures, aiming to facilitate the packaging and transport of the disassembled chair.
[0044] Thus, the backrest assembly (10) has a first cover (11) fixed onto a first structure. In one embodiment, a headrest (12) with ends fixed onto two supports Petition 870240108384, dated 12 / 19 / 2024, page 9 / 43 6 / 9 sides (13) form the first structure. In one embodiment, the first structure also has a lumbar support (14) between the side supports (13).
[0045] Additionally, the backrest assembly (10) is fixed to the base assembly (20) by means of the side supports (13). For this purpose, the base assembly (20) has a second structure that fixes a second cover (24). In one embodiment, two crossbars (27) are fixed between two side frames (28), forming the second structure in a rectangular configuration. Thus, in one embodiment, the first structure and the first cover of the backrest assembly (10), the second structure and the second cover of the base assembly (20) are derived from a bus seat.
[0046] Furthermore, the second structure has an interface (29) for fixing the seat assembly to the base assembly (30). In one embodiment, the interface (29) is a flat plate provided with holes as a structural optimization. In one embodiment, said plate is enclosed by the reinforcements (28) and supported on the crossbars (27).
[0047] By means of said interface (29), the seat assembly (20) is fixed to the base assembly (30) which has a connecting element (32). In one embodiment, the connecting element (32) is located in the center of the interface (29). Thus, the connecting element (32) supports the backrest (10) and seat (20) assemblies. In one embodiment, the connecting element (32) and the interface (29) are joined in a non-permanent manner, allowing disassembly to facilitate the transport of the chair. In one embodiment, the connecting element (32) is fixed to the interface (29) by screws (2), facilitating the assembly or disassembly of the chair by the user. The use of screws does not restrict the scope of the invention, which may employ nuts, rivets, among other fastening elements (2).
[0048] Thus, in one embodiment, the interface (29) together with the connecting element (32) provide adaptations to the bus seat, generating the chair of the invention which is more robust and comfortable than the ergonomic chair solutions of the prior art. Petition 870240108384, dated 12 / 19 / 2024, page 10 / 43 7 / 9
[0049] In terms of ergonomics, the present invention provides headrests (12), lumbar support (14) and armrests (21), defining the ergonomic curves of the chair. Furthermore, the first cover (11) and the second cover (24) form an extensive surface for greater comfort for the seated user.
[0050] Additionally, the seat assembly (20) has a side support (22) which is a finish covering the reinforcements (28), two side supports (13) at the lower ends and the connection of each armrest (21) with the respective reinforcement (28). In one embodiment, the side support (22) is arranged over the reinforcement (28) by means of a fastener (25) which receives fastening elements (2). In one embodiment, the side support (22) extends along the side of the seat assembly (20), from the connection of the armrest (21) to a cup holder (23).
[0051] In a further embodiment, the armrest (21) has an adjustment between the enabled (forward) and disabled (upward) positions, to suit the user's preferences.
[0052] Furthermore, the side support (22) receives a lever. In one embodiment, each side support (22) receives a lever. Thus, the levers are arranged in an upper region of the seat assembly (20), providing easy user access to the lever for adjusting the chair. From this, the invention provides accessibility, since the user does not need to move sideways or stand up to adjust the recline or height of the chair.
[0053] In one embodiment, each lever has an adjustment function to adjust the seat height or to adjust the backrest tilt. For the purposes of the present invention, the lever does not restrict the scope of the invention, since other actuation means can be used, for example, a button or a display.
[0054] For such chair adjustments, each lever is associated with a piston. In one embodiment, a first lever (6) is associated with a piston (8) of the seat assembly (20), which adjusts an angle between the assembly Petition 870240108384, dated 12 / 19 / 2024, p. 11 / 43 8 / 9 seat (20) and backrest assembly (10).
[0055] In one embodiment, a second lever (7) is associated with a piston (8) of the base assembly (30), which adjusts the seat height. For this purpose, the second lever (7) is connected to an adjustment mechanism (26) by means of a steel cable (1). In one embodiment, the adjustment mechanism (26) pulls the cable (1) as the second lever (7) is activated. In one embodiment, the mechanism (26) is fixed between a lever existing on the star base of the base assembly (30) and said cable (2), said lever actuates the piston (8) of the base assembly (30) for seat height adjustment when the user activates the second lever (7) of the seat assembly (20).
[0056] Thus, the first (6) and second (7) levers arranged on the side supports (22) allow, respectively, the adjustment of the chair's recline and the adjustment of the seat height, without the user needing to bend over to reach the lever under the seat, as is done in the previous technique.
[0057] Furthermore, in one embodiment, the adjustment mechanism (26) has a coupler (3) that receives the piston lever (8) through a hole (5). In this embodiment, at the opposite end of the hole (5) is connected the cable (1) secured by a fastening element (2), for example, screws and nuts (4).
[0058] In a second object, the present invention presents a manufacturing process for an ergonomic chair comprising the steps of: constructing a backrest assembly (10), a seat assembly (20) and a base assembly (30); associating the seat assembly (20) between the backrest assembly (10) and the base assembly (30), defining ergonomic curves; and associating a lever to the seat assembly (20), the lever being easily accessible for adjusting the chair.
[0059] The chair manufactured by the invention process is as defined above and shown in figures 1 to 29.
[0060] Furthermore, the chair of the invention complies with current regulations, such as the regulatory standard NR-17. Petition 870240108384, dated 12 / 19 / 2024, p. 12 / 43 9 / 9
