Description
5 Anti-theft platform for truck AdBlue tank Field of invention
[001] The present invention relates to an anti-theft platform for a truck's ARLA tank, with the aim of protecting against theft of the float located at the top of the tank, especially in trucks of the PGR, NTG, and similar models. Fundamentals of the invention
[002] Road transport is the main means of transportation in Brazil, responsible for connecting people and transporting goods to a wide variety of destinations. This system uses various vehicles, such as cars, buses, trucks, vans, among others. In the logistics segment, the transport of goods by trucks of different categories, such as urban, semi-heavy and heavy trucks, stands out. These vehicles are generally composed of a front cab and a large rear compartment, popularly known as a "box truck," designed to accommodate cargo efficiently.
[003] However, this segment faces several challenges, including the theft of high-value components. Among the most targeted items is the ARLA tank float, known as the "fisherman," responsible for measuring the product level and ensuring its injection and suction into the system. This component, located near the fuel tank on the lower exterior of the vehicle, is targeted for theft due to its easy access. In addition, the ARLA liquid itself can also be stolen, exacerbating the losses.
[004] ARLA is an essential product for reducing pollutant emissions, transforming toxic gases into substances that are harmless to the environment and health. Theft of this item directly impacts the environmental efficiency of the truck, and can also cause damage to internal components due to the increased amount of harmful gases in the system. Petition 870240109210, dated 12 / 20 / 2024, page 9 / 20 / 5
[005] Replacing or repairing these components represents a significant cost for truck drivers and companies, in addition to compromising the safety of drivers, who have to deal with constant stress during stops and maintenance.
[006] In view of these problems, the present invention was developed as a practical and efficient solution to protect the ARLA tank and its components against theft.
[007] Due to these and other problems, the present invention was developed, providing an anti-theft platform specifically designed for AdBlue tanks on trucks, with the main objective of preventing the unauthorized removal of the float (sifter) and protecting the tank against theft and damage. The platform is designed to be firmly and securely fixed using the supports and holes already existing on the truck, eliminating the need for permanent adaptations or damage to the original parts.
[007] This solution caters to different truck models, such as those in the Scania PGR and NTG series, adapting to their specific structural configurations. In PGR trucks, the platform is fixed at the front by rods connected to a lower support, and at the rear by means of a fixing base attached to the truck's channel-type profiles. In NTG models, the platform uses an intermediate arm of the tank support and extensions to ensure ideal adaptation, with spacer washers that correct dimensional differences and align the assembly.
[008] All screws and fasteners are self-locking, making any unauthorized removal attempt difficult. Alternatively, anti-theft screws with specific keys can be used, further increasing security.
[009] The platform is designed to preserve the functionality of the ARLA tank, keeping the front nozzle accessible for refueling, while significantly hindering the improper removal of components. Petition 870240109210, dated 12 / 20 / 2024, page 10 / 20 / 5
[010] In addition to offering protection against theft, the platform serves as an auxiliary step to facilitate access to the rear area of the truck cab, supporting the weight of a person and expanding its usefulness.
[011] Another objective of this invention is to reduce costs associated with repairs and replacements of parts resulting from theft or damage, ensuring greater peace of mind for drivers and fleet operators.
[012] The platform is preferably manufactured in stainless steel, providing strength and durability, but it can also be produced with other corrosion and wear-resistant materials. In addition, it offers aesthetic customization options, such as different colors and ornamental designs, allowing it to integrate with the visual style of the truck. Brief description of the drawings
[008] In order to better describe and present this invention, the attached figures will be listed and explained below: Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the invention(1). Figure 2 illustrates an exploded view showing all the connections of the invention(1). Figure 3 presents a perspective view of the constructive variation for NTG models. Figure 4 illustrates an exploded view showing all NTG variation connections. Description of the invention
[009] As shown in the figures and drawings above, said invention is an anti-theft platform for a truck ARLA tank (1), composed of an upper platform (2), two rods (3), a lower front support (4) and a rear support (5). The invention (1) uses two original and conventional truck parts, namely the tubular profiles (A), which constitute the lower base of the ARLA tank (not shown) and where clamps are attached that enclose the tank, and the type profiles Petition 870240109210, dated 12 / 20 / 2024, page 11 / 20 / 5 gutter(B), located at the top of the tank, responsible for holding the clamps in the upper region of the tank. Profiles(A) have factory holes(A1) at their front ends, and profiles(B) have factory holes(B1).
[0010] The platform(2) consists of a flat upper face(6) with lower flanges(7), which have two sets of double holes(8 and 9). The set(8) is located in the rear region of the face(6), while the other set(9) is located in the side flanges(7), in the front part. The rods(3), in turn, have holes at their upper ends(10). The lower support(4) consists of a crossbar(11) with flanges(12) and two intermediate arms(13), receiving holes(14 and 14a) at all its ends. The rear support(5) consists of a horizontal crossbar(15) and lower and vertical arms(16), also with holes(17 and 17b) at all ends.
[0011] The rods (3) are connected at the top in the holes (9 and 10) by self-locking fasteners (18), and at the bottom, are welded to self-locking fasteners (19) fixed to the tabs (12), securing the platform (2) with the support (4). The lower support (4) is fixed in the holes (14a and A1) by means of self-locking fasteners (20), securing the support (4) and the profiles (A). The rear support (5) is connected at the bottom in the holes (17b and B1) by self-locking fasteners with extension (21), securing the support (5) with the profiles (B), and at the top, fixed in the holes (8 and 17) by self-locking fasteners (22), securing the support (5) with the platform (2).
[0012] Thus, the platform(2), rods(3), support(4), and support(5) are fastened together by the fasteners(18, 19, and 22), and at the same time firmly connecting the entire assembly to the original vehicle parts (A and B) by the fasteners(20 and 21). The self-locking fasteners(18, 19, 20, 21, and 22) are preferably made of screws, self-locking nuts, and washers, which, in attempts to remove them, spin freely, preventing unauthorized access. Alternatively, screws with specially shaped heads can be used, which further hinder the use of conventional tools for opening(1). Petition 870240109210, dated 12 / 20 / 2024, p. 12 / 20 / 5
[0013] The platform(2) is designed to be installed on the float (squeeze pipe) of the ARLA tank, ensuring that its extension does not cover the front filling nozzle. In this way, the platform (2) prevents unauthorized access to the float (squeeze pipe), allowing its removal only in specialized workshops, equipped with the appropriate tools, making the theft of this sensitive part more difficult.
[0014] The model described above is preferably used in PGR trucks. However, NTG series trucks, which use a rear base (not shown) with an intermediate arm (not shown) for fixing the ARLA tank, have different characteristics that require adaptations. In these models, the tank is attached by a rear base (not shown) that receives an intermediate arm (not shown) that embraces the ARLA tank in a recess found in it. Therefore, to meet these models, the invention(1) presents the constructive option with the rods(3) receiving a forward-projected angle(23), a shortening(24) and a lower cut(25), being fixed directly to the tank arm by means of self-locking fasteners(26) with spacer washers of different sizes(27). These washers correct possible misalignments, ensuring that the rods (3) are centered and uniformly aligned with the platform (2).Additionally, the rear holes of the platform (8) are fixed directly to the rear base of the tank by extensions (28) with self-locking fasteners (29).
[0015] Thus, the invention is suitable for both PGR and NTG trucks, as well as other models, offering a robust solution to protect the ARLA tank, making theft more difficult and preventing unauthorized access to the float (fisherman), while maintaining the functionality and integrity of the vehicle's original components.
