Description
System for detecting wear caused by corrosion in eye bolt anchors. Brief description
[001] The high-voltage power cables that make up the power transmission and distribution system are attached by insulators to poles and towers using anchor eye bolts.
[002] For voltages below 69 kilovolts, where concrete poles are commonly used, it is difficult to assess the condition of the eye bolt. Furthermore, failure to inspect transmission line and substation anchors can cause serious accidents.
[003] The visible parts of these assemblies are relatively easy to monitor. However, parts that are out of sight, such as the embedded parts of eye bolts, require different treatment. To visually inspect bolts embedded in the concrete of beams, crossarms, or poles, it is necessary to completely disassemble the anchoring assembly.
[004] The procedure normally adopted by electric power companies requires the temporary shutdown of the system, as there is a need to dismantle a span of line or busbar, which implies laying the cables on the ground or installing a temporary anchor in order to release the anchoring assembly and carry out the necessary inspection.
[005] This represents a major operational disruption which entails, in addition to direct costs, contractual supply charges. In order to solve this problem, the present invention / product was developed. Petition 870250062949, dated 07 / 22 / 2025, page 6 / 7 2 / 2
[006] Over time, these screws lose their desired physical characteristics due to the effects of climate and friction, caused by mechanical stress. In addition, these structures can also undergo galvanic corrosion processes that lead to the degradation of the metallic material, causing a weakening of mechanical properties such as strength, elasticity, and ductility.
[007] In view of this problem, the present invention was developed, a system capable of coupling to the eye bolts of anchorage in a measuring instrument using the microwave wave range, enabling the injection of electromagnetic signals into the eye bolts. By comparing the results, it is possible to detect whether or not there is wear on the eye bolts. Brief description of the drawings
