Description

"Composite material for use as a igniter for solid fuel" FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[001] The present invention relates to an environmentally friendly solid composite material that can be molded into any shape, is non-toxic, and has applications in the combustion and energy sector, aiming to initiate the combustion of solid materials such as charcoal, coal, firewood, and other solid fuels.

[002] The material's combustion initiation is extremely safe, with gradual and slow burning, and its performance as a combustion initiator is exceptional, emitting no smoke or toxic gases and releasing no liquids before, during, or after the start of burning. The resulting flame has a high calorific value and a longer duration than others on the market, with a 15-gram piece burning for more than 15 minutes. Additionally, the material does not require a wick, tinder, or any other accessory to maintain the flame.

[003] Currently, several materials and processes are known for initiating the combustion of solid materials such as coal and firewood. Most of these products use paraffin or alcohol as a base, in both liquid and gel form. Materials such as paper, kindling, and wood chips are also common, but often with an efficiency below what is required. The use of synthetic materials such as rubber and plastics is highly inadvisable, as they represent a significant risk of accidents, including explosions and the release of dense, sometimes toxic, smoke and unpleasant odors during combustion.

[004] Seeking to solve the safety and environmental impact problems of known conventional fire starters, this invention presents a COMPOSITE MATERIAL FOR USE AS Petition 870250004611, dated 01 / 21 / 2025, page 7 / 11 2 / 4 This solid fuel lighter offers exceptional efficiency in terms of energy release, is easy to use (i.e., very practical), has a low production cost, and can be manufactured using recyclable materials such as sawdust or used waxes that would otherwise be discarded, preventing river pollution and environmental degradation, thus promoting environmental sustainability. The final material is non-explosive, with slow and gradual action, and the possibility of delaying ignition by up to 20 seconds. Furthermore, it is non-toxic and biodegradable.

[005] With these characteristics, this COMPOSITE MATERIAL FOR USE AS A SOLID FUEL IGNITER offers an effective and safe solution for the current needs of starting the combustion of solid fuels, without compromising the environment, being non-toxic, economical, safe, reducing the risk of burns and accidents, and is efficient, guaranteeing quick and easy ignition in any situation. STATE OF THE ART

[006] Research conducted in the available literature, including patent databases and articles, reveals that there are several materials and devices for initiating the combustion of solid fuel, each with advantages and disadvantages.

[007] Patent PI 0401060-4 A presents a process for producing a fire starter from a complex composition of wood, alcohol, stearin, paraffin, plaster, and petroleum jelly as a demolding aid, obtaining a material that can be molded into any shape. This patent shows a simple process but has the problem of using an overly complex mixture and not demonstrating how to obtain in practice an ideal physicochemical mixture for the described process, restricting itself to providing a composition, or range of compositions, of a complex mixture. Petition 870250004611, dated 01 / 21 / 2025, page 8 / 11 3 / 4

[008] Patent PI 0802116-3 A2 presents a product obtained by shaping a log basically with paraffin and a wick, not differing basically from a homemade lighting candle with a special shape apparently ideal for the proposed purpose.

[009] Patent PI 0902647-9 A2 presents a product composed of a mixture of vegetable oils and cotton yarn waste, but it is not clear how the solid material described in the patent is obtained, nor is there a more defined composition of the product described.

[010] Utility model UM 8302612-6 U presents a complex mixture of industrial waste with inert materials, also including an aromatizing substance with insect repellent effect, without providing a defined composition or how to obtain the ideal point of the mixture.

[011] From the analysis of the retrieved literature it is clear that there is a space to be filled with a simpler, more practical product with the characteristics of that presented in this invention application. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[012] With the intention of improving the products and the processes for obtaining them described in the literature, a material was developed consisting basically of an inert wax, which can be paraffinic or of vegetable, animal or even mineral origin, impregnated through heat treatment in a combustible porous solid matrix in an ideal composition resulting in a material that is processable at high temperatures, is solid and stable when cooled and has controllable combustion but a high flame spread power in the material in which combustion is to be initiated.

[013] The material described and its production process are simple, obtained with readily available materials in a composition that is determined in the process in order to obtain the ideal mixing point.

[014] The advantages of the material obtained are non-toxicity, control of Petition 870250004611, dated 01 / 21 / 2025, page 9 / 11 4 / 4 initial ignition, no emission of toxic gases, virtually no smoke emission, no release of liquids before, during or after combustion, economical due to the materials used, simple composition, practicality of use and ease of production. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE OBJECT

[015] The process of obtaining the COMPOSITE MATERIAL FOR USE AS A IGNITER FOR SOLID FUEL initially involves the melting of an inert, paraffinic organic wax of natural or synthetic origin.

[016] After fusion, a porous solid matrix, ideally wood sawdust, is added little by little until the liquid material acquires a paste-like consistency that is easily perceived by no longer adhering to the wall of the container.

[017] The paste-like material, while still hot, is then poured and molded into ideally plastic shapes.

[018] After cooling, the material is easily removed from the mold, exhibiting a solid and firm consistency without any signs of disintegration. [019} In addition to molding, pressing or even extrusion processes can also be used.

[020] Typically, mixtures are obtained with approximately 20% (twenty percent) by weight of sawdust with 80% (eighty percent) of paraffin. The composition is relatively variable, but does not deviate from this 1 to 4 ratio, as the point of mixing is not given by a fixed composition, but by the transition from the liquid to the paste state while the mixture is still hot.

[021] The composite mixture thus obtained has the properties described in this invention proposal report.
