Description
[001] This patent document refers to a portable barbecue grill, which has differentiated construction characteristics for greater practicality in use and which solves problems that have not been solved in the same way until now.
[002] In the current state of the art, various construction models for barbecue grills can be found, however none of the known constructions has the configuration presented according to the grill, object of this document.
[003] The inventive activity lies in the overall design of its construction and in using a side opening, by means of hinges, in place of the traditional top-opening model found in various existing grills, where the top of the grill opens upwards, which creates problems for opening it inside barbecues where the opening is too low, or for keeping the grill open on a table or countertop, for example.
[004] Industrial design document DI6500171-0 discloses a grille with the configuration mentioned in the previous paragraph. Industrial design document DI302018000777-8 also discloses a configuration with the grille opening upwards. Industrial design document BR302022006454-8 also shows a grille configuration with an upward opening.
[005] Patent document MU6001095-9 also discloses a grill configuration that opens upwards. Patent document PI8306559-8 also discloses a manual barbecue grill in which the opening is upwards. Petition 870250007279, dated 01 / 29 / 2025, page 7 / 24 2 / 6
[006] Chinese patent document CN202761089 also shows a grid configuration that opens upwards. Chinese patent document CN203524514 also discloses a grid configuration that opens upwards.
[007] The grill, with its side opening, solves this recurring problem in traditional grills, which have an upward opening. This new design allows easy access to food without the need to tilt the grill or lift the lid upwards, providing greater ease of handling and safety during use, as well as making it easier to keep it open on a table or countertop without taking up unnecessary space.
[008] In addition, the grill has handles and strategically positioned mechanical locks, which ensure the grill is firmly closed during use.
[009] The side opening allows for direct and more practical access to food, without the need to lift the top and the user having to hold it to prevent it from descending unintentionally. By opening laterally, the user has greater ease in working with the arrangement and positioning of food on the grill; the lateral movement facilitates the handling of food such as turning, repositioning or removing it. The side opening is ideal for grills positioned in locations with height limitations, where a grill with a top opening could hit the top of the grill opening. The side opening also makes it easier to open the grill over a table or countertop, to serve the grilled food directly onto the grill. Petition 870250007279, dated 01 / 29 / 2025, page 8 / 24 3 / 6
[010] These are just some of the advantages and problem-solving capabilities that the side-opening grille is able to provide compared to previous designs.
[011] The barbecue grill with side opening, the subject of this patent document, may have two constructive variations: one with only one front handle, and another variation with two front handles, which are the grips. Both variations are based on the same concept and inventive unity.
[012] The barbecue grill with side opening, the subject of this patent document, is best understood through the detailed description presented below, together with the attached figures, given by way of example and illustration, so that a person skilled in the art may understand and put into practice the improvements now explained.
[013] Figure 1 shows a perspective illustration of the barbecue grill, open, with two front handles for user handling.
[014] Figure 2 illustrates, in detail, a possible embodiment for the grid lock(100).
[015] Figure 3 presents a perspective illustration of a second constructive variation, of the barbecue grill(200), closed, with only one front handle for user handling.
[016] In reference to the figures presented, by way of illustration, the grate(100) is composed of two metallic surfaces, which form the walls of the grate(100), being the lower part(101) and the upper part(102), made of heat and corrosion resistant material. The lower part(101) and the upper part(102) are arranged parallel to each other and connected by Petition 870250007279, dated 01 / 29 / 2025, page 9 / 24 4 / 6 hinges(103) arranged on one of the sides, allowing opening and closing at an angle. In this document, side means the right or left sides, which correspond to the length of the grill(100).
[017] The lower part (101) serves as the main support for the food. The upper part (102) is articulated by means of the side hinges (103), which allows the side opening of said grill (100), offering easy access to the food. The hinges (103) are positioned at the side ends, must be robust in order to guarantee smooth movement and withstand repeated opening and closing without significant wear.
[018] On the lower part (101), front side, there are two handles (104), located at both lateral ends of the grill (100), finished with thermal insulation material, allowing safe handling even when using the grill (100) at high temperatures. Also on the lower part (101), back side, there are supports (105), of which there are two, and serve to support the grill (100) inside the barbecue.
[019] The gate(100) has latches(106 and 106') on the side that opens; and has a latch (107 and 107') on the front, to ensure its secure closure.
[020] The side latch(106 and 106') may be a latch, bolt, or pin or hook system, so that when the gate(100) is closed, one part of the latch(106) may be attached to the other part of the latch(106').
[021] Similarly, the lock (107 and 107') can be a pin system, or sliding ring, or pin, or latch, of Petition 870250007279, dated 01 / 29 / 2025, p. 10 / 24 5 / 6 so that, when the grill(100) is closed, one part of the latch(107) can be fixed to the other part of the latch(107').
[022] Figure 2 illustrates, in detail, for illustrative purposes only, for a technician in the field, a possible form of the lock (207, 207'), with a sliding locking element (T), in the direction of the arrow (S) whereby with this movement it is possible to lock and unlock the grid (100) on its front side.
[023] Figure 3 illustrates a second variation of the grill(200), which has the same constructive idea, comprising two metallic surfaces, which form the walls of the grill(200), being the lower part(201) and the upper part(202), made of heat and corrosion resistant material. The lower part(201) and the upper part(202) are arranged parallel to each other and connected by lateral hinges (identical to the first embodiment), allowing opening and closing at an angle to the side. In this document, lateral means the right or left sides, which correspond to the length of the grill(200).
[024] The lower part (201) serves as the main support for the food. The upper part (202) is articulated by means of the side hinges (identical to the first embodiment), and can be opened to the side, offering easy access to the food. The side hinges, as already described in the previous embodiment, must be robust in order to guarantee smooth movement and withstand repeated opening and closing without significant wear.
[025] On the lower part (201), front side, there is a single handle (204), centered on the grill (200), in the same structure as the front latch (207, 207'); said handle (204) has Petition 870250007279, dated 01 / 29 / 2025, page 11 / 24 6 / 6 finish in thermal insulating material, allowing safe handling even during use of the grill(200) at high temperatures. Also on the lower part(201), rear side, are arranged the supports(205), which are two, and serve to support the grill(200) inside the barbecue.
[026] The grill(200) has latches(206 and 206') on the side that opens; and has a latch (207 and 207') on the front, to ensure the secure closing of the grill(200), in the same inventive and constructive idea as the first materialization already described above.
[027] Variations in the shape of the lock, in any of the embodiments, should not be considered a technical advance, so as not to mischaracterize the present invention. The first and second embodiments are part of the same inventive concept, the difference being the presence of the handles (104 and 204).
[028] The grate, in any of the constructive variations presented (100 or 200), is preferably produced in a compatible metallic material, resistant to heat and corrosion. Variations in the material used should not be a factor in discrediting the present invention.
[029] The dimensions of the grid, in any of the constructive variations presented (100 or 200), may vary and should not be a factor in discrediting the present invention.
[030] With the present description of the invented object, it is understood that such object has industrial application, novelty and inventive activity, in relation to the state of the art, so as to have merit to obtain the said patent.
