Description

The present invention relates to a device for dragging wood, specifically designed to be attached to crawler tractors at the rear, aiming to optimize the movement and transport of logs and trunks in difficult-to-access terrain or with adverse conditions. In the context of the timber and forestry industry, transporting wood in hard-to-reach areas is a recurring challenge. Tracked tractors are frequently used in these environments due to their ability to operate on uneven and muddy terrain. However, hauling logs requires an additional device that allows for greater efficiency, safety, and versatility in the transport process, without compromising the integrity of the materials or equipment. The main objective of the present invention is to provide a timber hauling device that can be easily attached to crawler tractors, offering an effective and robust solution for transporting logs, timber and other forestry materials in difficult terrain. The device for hauling timber coupled to crawler tractors is composed of the following main components: Support Structure: The robust metal structure (E) is designed to be fixed to the crawler tractor, ensuring the stability and safety of the device during operation. The structure has adjustable supports to allow adaptation to different models and sizes of tractors from 10 to 30 tons; Hauling System: Composed of a high-strength steel clamp (F), designed to connect the device to the timber, allowing efficient lifting and hauling. The clamp (F) can be adjusted to various positions and angles by means of a hydraulic rotator (B) controlled from inside the operator's cab, enabling the hauling of different volumes and dimensions of timber; Lifting System: The device is equipped with a lifting system (A) through two cylinders. Petition 870250007526, dated 01 / 29 / 2025, page 6 / 10 2 / 2 hydraulic (C) connected to the device (E) both perform the function of raising the tip of the wood off the ground, in order to facilitate the movement of the wood during dragging. These elements ensure that the wood moves smoothly, minimizing friction with the ground and preventing damage to it; Rotation system: The device has an infinite rotation mechanism, a hydraulic rotator (B) driven by the hydraulic system, connecting via a pinion (H) and a connecting rod (G) to the clamp. This mechanism eliminates the use of cables or chains to limit the rotation of the clamp (F); Height and Tilt Adjustments: To ensure efficient dragging on different types of terrain, the device has height (C) and tilt (G) adjustments, allowing the wood to be pulled ideally, whether on flat or sloping terrain; Clamp: The clamp (F) consists of two articulated arms (D) equipped with claws or jaws that open and close in a controlled manner. The grapple is powered by an integrated hydraulic system, controlled by the tractor operator from the cab, providing agility and precision in capturing logs. The hydraulic system offers sufficient force to grip logs of various diameters, even in slippery or uneven ground conditions; Guard: The safety guard (I) is an essential component designed to protect the operator when operating the timber dragging device. The guard is designed to prevent accidental contact with moving parts of the machine, such as the hydraulic grapple system. Among the advantages we highlight are increased efficiency, as the device allows for faster and safer wood hauling, increasing productivity in forestry operations; it can be coupled and adapted to different models of crawler tractors, offering flexibility in use; and, no less important, its durability, as it is manufactured with high-strength materials, designed to withstand intense wear and tear, offering a long service life. This patent can be better understood through Fig. 1.1.

Claims

1) DEVICE FOR DRAGGING WOOD COUPLED TO TRACKED TRACTORS, characterized by containing a metal support structure (E) fixed to the tracked tractor, a dragging system composed of a steel clamp (F), composed of two articulated arms (D) equipped with claws or jaws that open and close in a controlled manner, designed to connect the device to the wood, allowing for efficient lifting and dragging, which can be adjusted to various positions and angles by means of a hydraulic rotator (B) controlled from inside the operator's cabin, also composed of a lifting system (A) through two hydraulic cylinders (C) connected to the device (E), both of which perform the function of lifting the tip of the wood from the ground, in order to facilitate the movement of the wood during dragging, and, in this way, the rotation system with an infinite rotation mechanism, hydraulic rotator (B) driven by the hydraulic system, connecting through a pinion (H) and a connecting rod (G),The clamp eliminates the use of cables or chains to limit the clamp's rotation (F), and, in turn, the safety guard (I) aims to ensure the operator's protection when operating the wood dragging device.
