Description
Telescopic traction head for agricultural equipment, leveling tower for agricultural equipment, and agricultural equipment.
[001] The present invention relates to a telescopic traction head for agricultural equipment that can vary between working positions, by extending to accommodate the side sections of an implement, and transport positions, by retracting to pull the implement.
[002] The present invention also relates to a leveling tower for agricultural equipment that enables a tractor to drive an implement on uneven terrain.
[003] The present invention also relates to agricultural equipment comprising the telescopic traction header and the leveling tower mentioned above. Description of the State of the Art
[004] Farmers are demanding planting equipment with increasingly wider working widths; both to obtain higher operational efficiency (reducing production costs) and to deposit seeds under optimal soil moisture conditions (planting window) when the best germination / emergence rate of plants is obtained and the risk of crop losses is reduced. These factors are especially important in situations of climatic instability due to irregularities in rainfall patterns, whether due to delays, scarcity, or even excess precipitation in a short period.
[005] In many agricultural regions, level terraces are built on the land to contain excess water during heavy rainfall; thus mitigating the erosive effects on the soil and losses of inputs. Depending on the degree of slope (unevenness) of the land, a greater number of terraces per area is needed. These terraces are built with a profile that is as "smoothed" as possible; to allow planting and Petition 870250007693, dated 01 / 30 / 2025, page 22 / 40 2 / 14 cultivation on them in order to avoid loss of productive area. These terraces, however, due to their relative height, represent obstacles that are difficult to overcome for agricultural equipment in general and become a limiting factor for the adoption of equipment with a wider working width and higher operational efficiency.
[006] Equipment intended for planting grains in these regions is generally equipped with a chassis / structure with articulation / flotation means between a central section and at least two lateral sections (wings) to better follow the irregularities of the terrain surface; as well as being equipped with means for closing (horizontal folding) said structure to reduce its total width and thus allow movement along roads and tracks of the rural property.
[007] In this context, equipment with reservoirs that have greater operational autonomy (greater volumetric capacity of inputs) and planting lines with high operational precision (for cutting the remaining straw on the soil and avoiding "clogging" as well as for opening the furrows, depositing the inputs at a specific depth and carrying out the proper soil closure over said inputs) is also required in order to obtain the best soil / seed contact and a higher germination rate of these.
[008] Depending on the slope of the terrain and the geometry of the crop plots, optimized work routes are adopted for the traffic of the Tractor / Equipment combination; this generally implies crossing (obliquely / transversely) over said terraces during the planting operation and, not infrequently, considerable unevenness occurs between the Tractor / Equipment combination; which may at times cause undesirable elevation of the planting rows in relation to the ground or even undesirable pressing of these against the ground (due to the vertical fluctuation limit of these planting units) causing Petition 870250007693, dated 01 / 30 / 2025, page 23 / 40 3 / 14 resulting failures or unevenness in planting.
[009] The best-known structures are generally designed for work on relatively flat terrain, with no irregularities on the surface and which do not have a major limitation regarding their total length when observed between the work (Planting) and Transport (Displacement) positions.
[0010] Coupling sets for equipment known in State-of-the-art towers equipped with vertical adjustment (leveling at the traction head) are generally made up of single longitudinal bars (US5787988) or double longitudinal bars (US5488996 and US7712544). In all these constructions, a relatively greater longitudinal length of said bars is observed when compared to the leveling / elevation tower now proposed; which has a reduced longitudinal construction. Objectives of the Invention
[0011] A primary objective of the present invention is to provide a Traction Header assembly that allows for a large telescopic stroke to permit proper adjustment of the overall length of the equipment between a Working (Planting) position and a Transport (Moving) position.
[0012] A second objective of the present invention is to provide a leveling tower for the tractor vehicle that has a reduced longitudinal length and that satisfactorily performs the function of longitudinal leveling of the equipment in relation to the ground, in different positions of use (Work / Transport). [0044] First, it should be noted that the term “preferred” used here refers to a particular efficient embodiment of the invention among the multiple possible embodiments. The term “preferred” should not be understood as limiting the possible embodiments of the present invention, that is, it should not be understood as “imperative” or “mandatory” for carrying out the present invention.
[0045] Figure 1 shows an exploded view of the telescopic traction head 1 for agricultural equipment and the leveling tower 2 for agricultural equipment. The traction head 1 comprises the portion of the equipment that connects the agricultural implement 3 to the leveling tower 2 and, by extending or retracting it, moves the implement 3 closer to or further away from the tractor. The traction head 1 preferably comprises a telescopic body 110 and a sliding body 120, which comprise rectangular section metal profiles. The telescopic body 110 is configured so that its rectangular section has slightly smaller dimensions than the rectangular section of the sliding body 120, so that the telescopic body can be inserted into the sliding body 120 in a snug but non-resistant manner. The traction head also preferably comprises a first hydraulic cylinder 130 that moves the telescopic body 110 in relation to the sliding body 120, a first hydraulic cylinder limiter 150 that limits the maximum extension of the first hydraulic cylinder 130 and moves driven by a first stop 1220 comprising a shaft inserted in holes in a first projecting support 122. Petition 870250007693, dated 01 / 30 / 2025, pp. 29 / 40 9 / 14 of the sliding body 120, a second hydraulic cylinder 140 that moves the sliding body 120 in relation to the implement 3 and a second hydraulic cylinder limiter 160 that limits the maximum extension of the second hydraulic cylinder 140 and moves driven by a second stop 301 comprising a shaft inserted in holes in a projection on the implement 3.
[0046] The leveling tower 2, also illustrated in the exploded view of Figure 1, preferably comprises a tower chassis 102, a mobile tower 210, a tower cylinder 220, a lock 240, a hydraulic lock cylinder 241 and a coupling 250. The mobile tower 210 preferably comprises a rod 211 of rectangular section and a flange 212 at its end, the flange 212 having coupling means that allow the mobile tower 210 to be coupled to the coupling 250. The rod 211 of the mobile tower 210 is inserted into a passage 1022 in the tower chassis 102 and maintains a degree of freedom for its movement. The movement of mobile tower 210 is carried out by means of the cylinder of tower 220, which has one of its ends connected to the flange 212 of mobile tower 210, and has its middle region connected to the chassis of tower 102, so that its extension moves mobile tower 210 along passage 1022.
[0047] Figure 2 shows an assembly consisting of the traction head 1 which has, at one end, the implement 3 and, at the other end, the leveling tower 2. In Figure 2, the traction head 1 can be seen in its extended position, the telescopic body 110 and the sliding body 120 can be seen along their entire length, and it is also possible to see the first hydraulic cylinder limiter 150 with one end touching the first stop 1220 and the second hydraulic cylinder limiter 160 with one end touching the second stop 301.
[0048] The 240 lock comprises a curved structure in the shape Petition 870250007693, dated 01 / 30 / 2025, page 30 / 40 10 / 14 hook, one end of which is configured to grip lateral projections 121 of the sliding body 120 and the other end, equipped with an axis associated with the tower chassis 102 around which the latch 240 can rotate, is also equipped with association means to which the hydraulic cylinder of the latch 241 is associated. In Figure 2, the traction head 1 is extended, therefore, the latch 240 is not engaged in the lateral projections 121; in this position, the hydraulic cylinder of the latch 241 is retracted, raising the hook-shaped end of the latch 240. The movement of the hydraulic cylinder of the latch 241 is responsible for engaging or disengaging the latch 240 in the lateral projections 121, locking or unlocking the traction head 1.
[0049] Figure 3 and Figure 4 show the assembly formed by the traction head 1, the implement 3 and the leveling tower 2 in longitudinal section, allowing observation of its interior. In Figure 3 we have the side section and in Figure 4 the section seen in an isometric perspective; it can be observed that the traction head 1 is in its extended position, which allows better visualization of each element. The first hydraulic cylinder 130 is seen inside the telescopic body 110 and the sliding body 120, the first hydraulic cylinder 130 associated, at one of its ends, with a pair of projections at the end of the sliding body 120 and associated, at its other end, with a guide assembly 170. The retraction of the first hydraulic cylinder 130 causes the telescopic body 110 to enter the sliding body 120 and the extension of the first hydraulic cylinder 130 projects the telescopic body 110 out of the sliding body 120.It is also possible to see the guide assembly 170, which comprises a rectangular metal profile, configured so that its rectangular section has dimensions slightly smaller than the rectangular section of the telescopic body 110, equipped with a hole for connection at one of its ends, through which it connects to the first hydraulic cylinder 130, preferably also comprising two. Petition 870250007693, dated 01 / 30 / 2025, page 31 / 40 11 / 14 pairs of vertical pulleys 171 symmetrical with respect to a longitudinal axis that runs through the center of the guide assembly 170, such that a circular segment of each pulley 171 projects beyond the guide assembly 170, passing through slots in the upper and lower guide assemblies 1710 and through slots in the upper and lower telescopic body 111 on the upper and lower faces of the telescopic body 110. The upper and lower guide assemblies 170 further comprise a horizontal pulley 172 between the pairs of vertical pulleys 171, the circular segment of which projects beyond the guide assembly 170 through slots in the lateral guide assemblies 1720 and through slots in the lateral telescopic body 112 on the lateral faces of the telescopic body 110. When the telescopic body 110 is inserted into the sliding body 120, the guide assembly 170 mediates the contact between them, enabling smoother longitudinal movement.
[0050] Also observed is the first hydraulic cylinder limiter 150, which is associated, at one of its ends, with the tower chassis 102 and has the first stop 1220 inserted in its slot. When the first hydraulic cylinder 130 is retracted, the first stop 1220 is close to the end of the first hydraulic cylinder limiter 150 associated with the tower chassis 102. As the first hydraulic cylinder 130 extends, the first hydraulic cylinder limiter 150 moves longitudinally in relation to the first stop 1220. The first hydraulic cylinder 130 is prevented from continuing its extension when the end of the first hydraulic cylinder limiter 150 touches the first stop 1220. Also in Figures 3 and 4, the second hydraulic cylinder limiter 160 is observed, which is associated, at one of its ends, with the end of the sliding body 120 and has the second stop inserted in its slot. 301.When the second hydraulic cylinder 140 is retracted, the second stop 301 is close to the end of the second hydraulic cylinder limiter 160 associated with the end of the sliding body 120, to the extent that the second... Petition 870250007693, dated 01 / 30 / 2025, pp. 32 / 40 12 / 14 hydraulic cylinder 140 extends, the second hydraulic cylinder limiter 160 moves longitudinally in relation to the second stop 301, the second hydraulic cylinder 140 is prevented from continuing its extension when the end of the second hydraulic cylinder limiter 160 touches the second stop 301
[0051] Figure 5 shows a side view of the telescopic body 110 in which it is possible to see the configuration of the tower chassis 102, which preferably comprises a pair of parallel metal plates 1021 provided with a plurality of holes for the association of the different elements of the leveling tower 2. In the bottom view shown in Figure 6, it is possible to see that the plates are associated with each other by means of perpendicular structural plates connecting each of the metal plates 1021 and forming the rectangular section passage 1022. Figure 5 also shows the lateral slots of the telescopic body 112 on the lateral faces and, in Figure 6, the upper and lower slots of the telescopic body 111 on the upper and lower faces, the upper and lower slots of the telescopic body 111 and the lateral slots of the telescopic body 112 located at the end closest to the tower chassis 102.It is also possible to see the first hydraulic cylinder limiter 150 which preferably comprises a metal rod with a slot along its entire length and is arranged parallel and adjacent to the telescopic body 110.
[0052] Figure 7 and Figure 8 show isometric views of the telescopic body 110, in which the arrangement of the perpendicular structural plates between the parallel metal plates 1021 forming the passage 1022 becomes clearer, as well as the relative position between the upper and lower slots 111 and the side slots 112.
[0053] Figure 9 and Figure 10 show a side view and a bottom view of the sliding body 120. The sliding body 120, as seen in Figure 9, comprises a profile 1200, a first support 122 Petition 870250007693, dated 01 / 30 / 2025, pp. 33 / 40 13 / 14 lower, comprising a longitudinal projection associated, at one of its ends, with the lower face of a first end of profile 1200 and having a hole at its other end. The hole in the first support 122 is associated with the first stop 1220. The sliding body 120 also comprises a second upper support 123, comprising transverse projections associated, at one of their ends, with the upper face of the first end of profile 1200 and having at least two holes. The hole closest to the base of the second support 123 is associated with one end of the second hydraulic cylinder 140, and the hole furthest from the base of the second support 123 is associated with the second hydraulic cylinder limiter 160, arranged adjacently and parallel to the sliding body 120. The sliding body 120 further comprises lateral projections 121 that extend transversely from the lateral faces of the first end of profile 1200.The sliding body 120 further comprises a third longitudinal support 124, which comprises longitudinal projections associated, at one of its ends, with the lateral faces of a second end of the profile 1200 and provided with a hole. One end of the first hydraulic cylinder 110 is associated with the hole in the third support 124. Figure 10, which shows a bottom view of the sliding body 120, allows visualization of the lateral projections 121 used to anchor the locks 240 when in the locked position.
[0054] Figure 11, Figure 12 and Figure 13 show isometric views and a front view of the sliding body 120. The arrangement of the supports 122, 123 and 124 can be better visualized, particularly in Figure 12, where they can be seen around the first end of the sliding body 120.
[0055] Figure 14, Figure 15, Figure 16 and Figure 17 show front, side, top and isometric views, respectively, of mobile tower 210. The rod 211 of mobile tower 210 is associated with flange 212, Petition 870250007693, dated 01 / 30 / 2025, pages 34 / 40 14 / 14 preferably, forming an angle between 0 and 90°, so that when rod 211 is inserted into passage 1022, which is inclined, flange 212 remains with its face contained in a vertical plane, so that the tractor hitch 250 can be associated with it. The region where the association between flange 212 and rod 211 is made has a hole where one end of the tower cylinder 220 is attached, which, in addition to moving the movable tower 210, keeps it inside passage 1022 and, consequently, coupled to the tower chassis 102.
[0056] Figures 18, 19 and 20 show the agricultural equipment comprising the traction head 1, the leveling tower 2 and the implement 3 associated with a tractor. Figure 18 shows a side view in section of the equipment in the transport position, with the transport head 1 retracted, Figure 19 shows a side view in section of the equipment in the working position, with the transport head 1 extended and Figure 20 shows a top view of the equipment in the transport position.
