Description
/ 4 Dispensing lid for storing and releasing solutes in SOLVENTS Innovation field
[001] The present innovation belongs to the field of sealing devices, more specifically, it refers to a dispensing cap designed to store solid, pasty and concentrated products, releasing them into liquid media, being applicable to packaging made of plastic and glass materials. Fundamentals of innovation
[002] Dispensing caps are devices designed to control the release of liquid substances or other contents from a container, allowing the user to dispense an exact amount of product without waste. They are widely used in a range of products, from cosmetics and personal care products to food and pharmaceuticals.
[003] In addition to ensuring precise dosage, dispensing caps help preserve the product. Their design generally includes features that minimize exposure to air and the external environment, which can prevent contamination and extend the shelf life of the contents. Another important benefit of these caps is improved hygiene, since the user does not need to touch the product directly, which is particularly relevant for items such as cosmetics and food.
[004] The cap design is engineered to fit the opening of the container and may incorporate various mechanisms, such as valves, nozzles, or pumps, that regulate the amount of substance released. Actuation can be achieved through different methods, such as pressure or rotation. Dispensing caps are commonly found on plastic bottles and are ideal for products such as sauces (e.g., ketchup), medications, water, oils, and vinegars. [005] Thus, none of the devices mentioned above has a dispensing lid designed with an internal cavity for storing solid, pasty or concentrated products, which can be subsequently dispensed into liquid media, allowing mixing directly in the container containing the liquid, or even allowing the product from the reservoir to be ingested separately, before the liquid, as in the present invention. Description of the drawings
[006] Figure 1 illustrates a perspective view of the lid (1) of the present invention, highlighting the main body (4) with the cavity (2) that forms the reservoir (3).
[007] Figure 2 shows a perspective view of the lid (1), showing a solid substance (8) stored in the reservoir (3). The figure highlights the lower part (11) of the reservoir (3) and the sealing area (5), responsible for ensuring the sealing of the lid (1) when it is attached to a container. In addition, the casing (7) that covers the lid (1), protecting the stored contents, is visible.
[008] Figure 3 shows a perspective view of the lid (1) attached to a container (9).
[009] Figure 4 shows an illustration of the cap (1), attached to a bottle (10), highlighting the reservoir (3), the casing (7) and the solid substance (8) stored in the reservoir (3). Detailed description of the innovation
[010] The device of the present invention consists of a dispensing cap (1) designed to store pasty, liquid, concentrated or solid products such as supplements, flavorings, medicines, or other powdered, capsule or granulated ingredients and release them into liquid media contained within a container. Petition 870250007986, dated 01 / 30 / 2025, page 7 / 15 / 4
[011] The cap (1) is formed by a main body (4) which has an internal cavity (2), forming a reservoir (3) where the substance is stored, said cap (1) is completely sealed by a casing (7), which covers the upper part, including the cavity (2) and the reservoir (3), as well as the external area of the main body (4). The lower part (11) of the reservoir (3) has no holes, which prevents the substance from coming into contact with the liquid in the bottle until the consumer decides to use it. The casing (7) ensures that the substance remains protected and stored safely, avoiding any risk of contamination.
[012] The casing (7) is designed to break open easily, allowing the user to access the substance stored in the reservoir (3). This can be broken open manually, by simple pressure or twisting.
[013] After breaking the wrapper (7), the consumer must rotate the cap (1) to open it and thus access the liquid substance in the container. The inner part of the cap body (4) has a sealing area (5), which provides a seal when attached to a container (9) or a bottle (10). When screwed on correctly, the sealing area (5) ensures complete sealing of the cap (1), preventing leaks of the liquid contained in the bottle (10).
[014] After breaking the casing (7) and opening the container, the user can choose between two options: (i) ingest the substance contained in the reservoir (3) directly with the aid of the liquid in the bottle, or (ii) dispense the substance into the liquid contained in the bottle, mixing both to form a flavored drink or a dissolved solution.
[015] In a preferred application example, the cap (1) is used on a container containing a liquid substance. A flavoring or supplement is stored in the reservoir (3) of the cap (1). When it is desired to consume the supplement or add the flavoring to the water, the casing (7) is broken, and opened. Petition 870250007986, dated 01 / 30 / 2025, page 8 / 15 / 4 the lid (1) and poured / mixed the substance from the reservoir (3) with the liquid from the container.
[016] It is important to note that the innovation described is not limited to the specific representations provided. The invention should be understood in its broad scope, and it is possible that many modifications and different representations may be developed from the descriptions and drawings presented. The invention is not restricted to the specific form disclosed and should be interpreted as encompassing any alterations or variations that are within the scope of the appended claims. Although specific terms are used, they are merely descriptive and are not intended to limit the innovation in any way. Petition 870250007986, dated 01 / 30 / 2025, page 9 / 15
