Description

1 / 8 “TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT IN MOTORS FOR ELECTRONIC GATES” INTRODUCTION 001 The present invention relates to a Technological Advancement in Motors for Electronic Gates, hereinafter referred to as Motors for Electronic Gates, which were developed to serve the area of property security through the automation of gates, aiming to offer more convenience to people and more security and protection when entering or leaving properties, whether residential or commercial, providing for said automation, a high-speed brushless carbon motor in conjunction with two speed reduction stages, being a planetary reducer followed by a helical reducer. 002 In this way, and to meet the intended purposes, the Electronic Gate Motors consist of the motor, the base casing, lock, external gear and its protection, 24-tooth gear and controller. FIELD OF APPLICATION 003 The field of application for this Electronic Gate Motors refers to the area of electromechanical equipment intended for use in residential, industrial, or commercial locations, serving as a basic security element in these places. OBJECTIVE 004 The objective of this Electronic Gate Motors is to allow the integration of a brushless motor with two gearboxes in sequence, which is not currently found on the market. 005 A second objective of this configuration is to allow a significant reduction in the size and weight of the drive unit, providing a decrease of up to 70% in the total weight of the system compared to conventional solutions. Petition 870250067197, dated 01 / 08 / 2025, page 5 / 15 2 / 8 PROBLEMS TO SOLVE 006 As is generally known among technicians in the field, conventional electronic gate motors predominantly use induction motors driven by frequency inverters or relay control units, accompanied by a single helical gearbox to adjust the rotation and torque. 007 According to their technical characteristics, these motors are larger and heavier, which leads to higher energy consumption and greater power loss. 008 The solution found to overcome the shortcomings of induction motors was the use of brushless motors, but in conjunction with a single gearbox, whether helical or planetary. The 009 Electronic Gate Motors presented here solve the problem of gates equipped with induction motors, as well as brushless motors with a single gearbox. STATE OF THE ART 010 With a view to placing Motors for Electronic Gates on the market, prior art searches were carried out in the Database of the National Institute of Industrial Property and nothing identical was found. - BR 10 2017 018541-9 published on 12 / 18 / 2018 under the title “GATE AUTOMATION ASSEMBLY WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF A NON-ROTATIONAL SPINDLE AND WITHOUT A GEARMOTOR”, where a flange nut (1), attached to a pulley (2) and supported by a bearing (3), moves at high speed by means of a belt (4) responsible for directly transferring the rotation of a motor (5), so that a spindle (6) moves in the direction of its axis through the internal thread of the flange nut (1). The spindle (6) has a linear guide (8) attached to one of its ends and a terminal (9) fixed to the gate at the other, therefore it does not rotate and travels along a square tube. Petition 870250067197, dated 01 / 08 / 2025, page 6 / 15 3 / 8 (7). The entire assembly is connected to a bearing (10), fixed to a wall or gate column, by means of a lower shaft. The use of the flange nut (1) in relation to the spindle (6), which is not rotational, eliminates the need for a rotation reduction mechanism. The arrangement of the assembly in relation to the gate eliminates the need for a locking system and allows for more efficient movement. Due to these improvements, the equipment becomes ideal for use with alternative energy sources, such as photovoltaics. - BR 10 2020 015877-5 published on 02 / 15 / 2022 under the title "SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CLOSING AUTOMATED GATES, DOORS OR BARRIERS", which deals with a System and Method for closing automated gates, doors or barriers with the objective of reducing or eliminating the gap between the gate / door frame and leaf or the gap between the barrier rod and the frame, by applying a torque to the gate (door or barrier) after it has come to a complete stop, which promotes a small, low-speed displacement enabling a smooth closing. Figure 8: Illustrates an exploded perspective view of the Monitoring System including the Brushless motor. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION 011 As can be inferred from the drawings that accompany and form an integral part of this report, the Motors for Electronic Gates (1) were developed to serve the area of property security by automating gates in order to offer more convenience to people and more security and protection when entering or leaving properties, whether residential or commercial. 012 In this way and to meet the intended purposes, the Motors for Electronic Gates (1) are formed by the Brushless motor (2), the base housing (3), lock (4), external gear (5) and its protection (6), 24-tooth gear (7), controller (8), top housing (9), battery case (10) and other smaller parts, but necessary for the correct functioning of the assembly. 013 As described above, the present invention proposes a system that innovates by combining a high-speed brushless motor with two reduction stages: a planetary gearbox followed by a helical gearbox, ensuring greater efficiency in torque transmission and more optimized operation for electronic gates. Furthermore, this configuration allows for a drastic reduction in the size and weight of the motor. 014 Among the main components, the following stand out: - High-Speed Brushless Motor: This type of electric motor is widely used in applications requiring high efficiency, durability, and precise control. It does not have carbon brushes, which reduces wear and maintenance needs, and it is also smaller in size. Petition 870250067197, dated 01 / 08 / 2025, page 8 / 15 5 / 8 015 According to its characteristics, the following should be highlighted: - High energy efficiency: Less loss due to friction and heat. - Greater durability: No brushes to wear down, increasing lifespan. - Silent operation: Less noise compared to brushed motors. - High speed and controlled torque: Ideal for precision applications. - Electronic control: Requires a controller (ESC - Electronic Speed Controller) to operate. 016 Planetary Gearbox: - This refers to a reduction gearbox that uses a planetary gear system to reduce speed and increase torque in mechanical transmissions, consisting of a sun gear, planetary gears, and a ring or crown gear. 017 Helical Gearbox: - This refers to a speed reducer that uses helical gears to transmit torque and reduce the rotational speed between a motor and the driven machine. It is widely used in industrial systems due to its efficiency, smooth power transmission, and ability to handle high loads. 018 In this case, it represents a second reduction stage, which adjusts the rotation and torque to the needs of the electronic gate, providing smooth and precise operation. 019 Among its characteristics, it is worth highlighting: - It features helical gears that offer quieter and more efficient operation than spur gears. - It has a high load capacity, supporting Petition 870250067197, dated 01 / 08 / 2025, page 9 / 15 6 / 8 greater forces due to the progressive contact between the gear teeth. - It facilitates speed reduction, allowing you to reduce engine speed and increase torque at the output. - Increased service life due to reduced wear resulting from smooth operation and even load distribution. ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION 020 From the combination of the components mentioned above, the advantages obtained are as follows: Increased Power and Torque: The planetary gearbox improves load distribution, allowing for a significant increase in motor torque. - With two gearboxes there is greater power conversion, guaranteeing more power to operate small and large gates. Reduced Engine Effort and Greater Durability: The introduction of the planetary gearbox reduces the motor speed before transmission to the helical gearbox, decreasing the stress on the components. This results in less wear and tear and a longer system lifespan. Load Control and Operational Efficiency: - Distributing the load between the two gearboxes allows for more balanced and efficient operation. - The lower motor speed in the final stage provides more precise control of the gate's movement. - Greater Energy Efficiency: The brushless motor consumes less energy and exhibits less power loss compared to induction motors. 021 Durability and Reduced Maintenance: The absence of brushes reduces wear and tear and the need for periodic maintenance. 022 Better Torque Distribution: The combination Petition 870250067197, dated 01 / 08 / 2025, page 10 / 15 7 / 8 of the two reducers allows for more efficient control of the force transmitted to the gate. 023 Engine Performance: The dual-stage reduction improves engine performance, ensuring less mechanical impact and a longer lifespan for the assembly. 024 Innovation in the Market: Currently, brushless motors are used with only one gearbox (helical or planetary). The present invention introduces the application of a system with two gearboxes, providing a novel solution for electronic gates. 025 Significant Weight and Size Reduction: The use of a small brushless motor, combined with a double reduction system, provides a reduction of up to 70% in the total weight of the assembly, making the product lighter and more compact compared to existing solutions on the market.
