Description

1 / 8 “MACHINE FOR CUTTING PROFILES”

[01] This invention patent refers to a machine for cutting profiles, belonging to the field of machining mechanics, more specifically applied in the manufacture of profiles used in the composition of doors, windows, gates, facades, among various other applications, which present wide versatility in the formation of different product models with different profile models, which can be machined in different formats, according to the position, size and shape of each piece extracted from each profile processed by the cutting machine of the present invention. History of the Invention

[02] Technicians are familiar with different types of machines and equipment used to manufacture profiles with specific cuts, including those that use a circular saw to cut profiles of different shapes and dimensions.

[03] Furthermore, these profiles can be supplied in different types of materials, preferably easy to machine, most commonly manufactured in aluminum or another metal alloy that presents similar mechanical properties. Thus, these profiles must be properly machined according to the shapes and dimensions required for each application need, in order to enable the formation of structures that combine different profiles that are assembled together and can be associated with other constructive models, according to each type of structure to be formed.

[04] Among the most commonly used types of profiles in the construction industry, those used in the formation of facades of buildings of different types and sizes stand out. In many cases, these profiles require complex machining to form their interlocking regions defined by cuts applied to at least one of the ends of these profiles.

[05] Thus, several machining operations on these profiles depend on making two cuts in different directions, requiring Petition 870250016083, dated 27 / 02 / 2025, page 7 / 21 2 / 8 More complex machining operations often require two or more pieces of equipment to perform multiple cuts, for example, one longitudinal cut and another transverse cut, according to the positions required by each connection end of these profiles. Saws, however, were not designed for frontal cuts in profiles because the bar is held frontally towards the disc, which is extremely dangerous for the operator, as they often need to bypass the saw's protective cover. Furthermore, such operations can be performed by cutting saw and / or stamping machining equipment, with some operations depending on a combination of such equipment, or, even more disadvantageously, on complex machining centers.

[06] However, in a disadvantageous way, the use of different equipment to perform the same machining operation considerably increases the complexity of the operation, making it more costly, time-consuming and difficult to operate, as it also depends on the skill of the respective operator who will perform two subsequent cutting stages, controlled manually so that each cutting stage is performed independently of the other.

[07] Thus, one of the most common solutions for carrying out machining of this type, applied to profiles for the formation of facades, consists of making a first cut, using a cutting saw, followed by making a second cut, using a stamping machine. However, disadvantageously, operations of this type result in increased manufacturing costs and impair the productivity of profile machining.

[08] Furthermore, an existing alternative in the state of the art consists of equipment known as end mills, which are also intended to perform complex machining operations on profiles, through the operation of tools that perform the milling of the profile ends. However, despite the ability to perform complex cuts on profiles, this type of equipment, in a disadvantageous way, lacks the versatility to operate in the machining of profiles of different shapes. Petition 870250016083, dated 27 / 02 / 2025, page 8 / 21 3 / 8

[09] In this way, disadvantageously, the facing machines require a specific tool dedicated to machining each profile model, and normally, each facade to be constructed depends on the assembly of profiles of several different models, making the productivity of machining operations carried out by means of machines of this type unfeasible.

[010] Aiming to solve these drawbacks of the prior art, the present invention proposes a machine for cutting profiles, which is equipped with a locking and positioning adjustment mechanism associated with a double profile cutting mechanism, wherein each machining operation is performed by means of the joint action of two independent cutting saws.

[011] Thus, it is an objective of the present invention to provide a machine for cutting profiles, which is capable of performing complex machining operations, defined by two independent cuts applied to each profile, one cut being applied in the longitudinal direction and the other in the transverse direction of the respective profile, having measurement adjustment in both directions.

[012] It is also an objective of the present invention to provide a machine for cutting profiles, which has an improved guiding mechanism to allow various adjustments in the positions of its components, in order to provide greater versatility and adaptability in the application of profiles of different sizes and shapes.

[013] Another objective of the present invention is to provide a machine for cutting profiles, which also has a movable cutting device and which has been improved to provide two cutting elements, such as circular saws, which move easily to a region of free access to the end of the profile that enters the machine and is temporarily immobilized by the actuation of the guiding mechanism, until said cutting elements perform the expected machining.

[014] Advantageously, the present invention provides a profile cutting machine configured from a simplified, yet efficient design, which provides greater speed in performing complex cuts, in addition to Petition 870250016083, dated 27 / 02 / 2025, page 9 / 21 4 / 8 allows for the complete cutting of wider profiles, such as paneling, by applying a single cutting step. Description of the Invention

[016] As illustrated by the attached figures, this invention presents a machine (M) applied to machining for cutting profiles (P), such as aluminum profiles or similar, used for forming building facades (not illustrated).

[017] The said machine (M) comprises a structural frame (E) designed to support a cutting device (D), which is mounted under a protective housing (C) responsible for blocking external access to the cutting device (D) during the operation of the machine (M), to provide greater safety to the human operator (not shown). In addition, the machine (M) also comprises a guiding mechanism (G) for each profile (P) to be machined by the cutting device (D), which can be moved closer to or further away from the guiding mechanism (G) that can be changed according to the profile model (P).

[018] Furthermore, it will be understood that the machine (M) can be used to cut profiles (P) of different models, whether these already exist or are yet to be created, and that such variations can be applied by means Petition 870250016083, dated 27 / 02 / 2025, page 11 / 21 6 / 8 simplified and obvious adaptations to be implemented in the handlebar mechanism (G), which must be compatible with the profile models (P) to be cut.

[019] Thus, the protective fairing (C) is mounted directly on the structural frame (E) and is provided with an entry opening (E1) arranged adjacent to a support bench (B) of each profile (P) that extends over it and advances through the entry opening (E1), coupling to the handle mechanism (G) and continuing until it reaches a working position of the cutting device (D) inside the protective fairing (C).

[020] As illustrated by figure 2, the cutting device (D) comprises a first cutting element (1) arranged orthogonally in relation to a second cutting element (2), both moved from a drive assembly (3) and mounted on a sliding structure (4). In a preferred embodiment of this invention, each of the cutting elements (1 and 2) is formed by a circular saw, and their dimensions and relative positions to each other in the cutting device (D) may vary according to the configuration previously defined for their respective mounting on the machine (M).

[021] Furthermore, the cutting device (D) also comprises a first actuator (5) interconnected with the sliding structure (4), which moves linearly along a section defined by the amplitude of the movement achieved by the first actuator (5), between its maximum retraction position and its maximum extension position. In this way, the sliding structure (4) is able to move linearly, to move the cutting device (D) closer to or further away from the guiding mechanism (G), such movement being conditioned by the actuation of said first actuator (5).

[022] As illustrated by figures 2 and 5, the guide mechanism (G) comprises a longitudinal structure (6) that supports a vertical displacement assembly (7) interconnected with lateral pressure elements (8) that move laterally along a rail (80) and move vertically along the vertical displacement assembly (7). In this way, the lateral pressure elements (8) are actuated to press and stabilize the position of each profile (P). Petition 870250016083, dated 27 / 02 / 2025, page 12 / 21 7 / 8 that enters the machine (M) to be machined, keeping it longitudinally supported on the support bench (B).

[023] Furthermore, the vertical displacement assembly (7) moves vertically in relation to the longitudinal structure (6), which is displaceable laterally along transverse guides (9). In this way, the fixing position of the profile (P) can be freely adjusted by the guide mechanism (G), according to the direction of the cuts to be made by the cutting elements (1 and 2).

[024] Preferably, as illustrated by figure 3, the first cutting element (1) should be arranged vertically, while the second cutting element (2) should be arranged horizontally, in order to determine orthogonal cutting directions.

[025] Additionally, also preferably, as illustrated by figure 3, the second cutting element (2) should be placed on the first cutting element (1) in a vertically aligned position with each other, with the edges of the cutting elements (1 and 2) spaced apart.

[026] Also in a particular embodiment of this invention, the drive assembly (3) comprises a first motor (30), dedicated to rotating the first cutting element (1), and comprises a second motor (31), dedicated to rotating the second cutting element (2). The transmission of kinetic energy to the cutting elements (1 and 2) can be carried out by means of any known transmission system, such as pulleys and belts.

[027] Finally, preferably, the sliding structure (4) comprises base rails (40) that define the path of movement of the sliding structure (4) moved by the first actuator (5).

[028] Thus, during the operational functioning of the machine (M), each profile (P) is individually positioned on the support bench (B) and manually moved until it passes through the guiding mechanism (G), positioning itself between the lateral pressing elements (8) that adjust to the width of the profile (P), to prevent unintentional displacements in the direction Petition 870250016083, dated 27 / 02 / 2025, page 13 / 21 8 / 8 longitudinal section of the profile body (P), which remains fixed in this position until the cutting device (D) completes its machining operation on said profile (P).

[029] Furthermore, the vertical displacement assembly (7) can be actuated to move vertically, relative to the longitudinal structure (6) and together with the lateral pressure elements (8), in order to allow adjustments in the vertical position of the profile (P) that will be machined by the cutting device (D). Also, depending on each specific application requirement, the longitudinal structure (6) can be moved laterally along transverse guides (9), so as to move with it the vertical displacement assembly (7) and, consequently, the lateral pressure elements (8).

[030] After the profile (P) has been properly fixed in the guide mechanism (G) under the adjusted positioning, the cutting device (D) is activated so that the cutting elements (1 and 2) advance against the free end of the profile (P) to be machined, this end, which contains the part of the profile (P) to be cut, projects beyond the limit defined by the edges of the lateral pressing elements (8), in a longitudinal direction, remaining free for contact with the cutting elements (1 and 2). The displacement of the cutting elements (1 and 2) occurs according to the actuation of the first actuator (5), which is interconnected with the sliding structure (4) that supports the drive assembly (3) together with the cutting elements (1 and 2).

[031] Therefore, the simultaneous advance of the cutting elements (1 and 2) over the extreme region of the profile (P) promotes the execution of cuts in directions perpendicular to each other (see figures 6A, 7A and 8A), whose combination results in the removal of a part of complex shape (see figures 6B, 7B and 8B), to enable specific applications of machined and assembled profiles in different ways, for the formation of structures of the most varied types, such as different models of structures used as building facades (not illustrated).

[032] A person skilled in the art will readily recognize, from the description, various ways of carrying out the invention without departing from the scope characterized by the claims that accompany this descriptive report. Petition 870250016083, dated 27 / 02 / 2025, page 14 / 21
