Description

[001] The description refers to the compositions and methods for improving the appearance of the skin. FUNDAMENTALS

[002] The skin is primarily comprised of two layers. The outer layer or epidermis has a depth of approximately 100 µm. The inner layer or dermis has a depth of approximately 3000 µm from the outer surface of the skin and is comprised of a network of fibrous proteins known as collagen, which provides firmness to the skin, and elastin, which provides elasticity and recovery to the skin. As a person ages, their skin produces less collagen and elastin each year. As a result, the skin becomes thinner and more fragile with age, and the formation of wrinkles as a result of aging is inevitable.

[003] Furthermore, as a person ages, other skin imperfections may appear or become more visible. For example, age spots, which are brown or gray sun-induced skin lesions, may appear on sun-exposed skin as a person ages. It is common for consumers to wish to improve the appearance of such age-related skin imperfections such as wrinkles, crow's feet, age spots, dark circles, and the like. Additionally, many consumers wish to improve the appearance of, or conceal, other skin imperfections such as acne, scars, enlarged pores, and so on, which may be related to aging.

[004] While topical cosmetic formulations, such as foundation or concealer types of makeup, can improve the appearance of some skin imperfections, such formulations are not long-lasting and cannot Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, page 8 / 56 / 41 to reduce the appearance of more pronounced skin imperfections, such as wrinkles or deep scars. Furthermore, while some cosmetic formulations may include an ingredient to reduce the appearance of imperfections over time, such as an anti-wrinkle cream, such formulations may take a long time for results to become visible and may also be ineffective in reducing the appearance of more pronounced skin imperfections.

[005] As an alternative to topical cosmetic formulations, more invasive techniques such as surgery, fillers, or laser skin rejuvenation can provide long-lasting effects and can treat prominent imperfections. However, many consumers cannot afford, or do not wish to undergo, such drastic cosmetic treatments.

[006] As such, there is a consumer desire for topical cosmetic formulations that are effective in reducing the appearance of skin imperfections. SUMMARY

[0010] In other embodiments, the description refers to methods for improving the appearance of the skin, said methods comprising forming a film by applying a composition to the skin, said composition comprising (a) at least one amorphous hydrocarbon block copolymer of styrene and hydrocarbon monomers containing 2 to 5 carbon atoms comprising one or two ethylenic unsaturations and having a first Tg below about 0°C and a second Tg greater than about 25°C; (b) at least one adhesive film-forming polymer selected from C1-C4 alkyl methacrylate polymer particles, stabilized in a non-aqueous dispersion; and (c) at least one filler; wherein the film has a Young's modulus greater than about 500 kPa. DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0011] In several embodiments, the description refers to compositions for improving the appearance of the skin. According to several embodiments, the description refers to compositions comprising at least one thermoplastic elastomer, at least one adhesive polymer and at least one filler.

[0012] The compositions can be effective in reducing the appearance of skin imperfections. In several modalities, the compositions can improve the appearance of the skin by forming a film on the skin having a Young's Modulus higher than that of the skin and in this way Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, p. 10 / 56 / 41 having the ability to tighten the skin. Additionally, in some embodiments, the film may obscure or conceal skin imperfections. Consequently, the description still refers to methods of improving the appearance of the skin by forming a film on the skin with the compositions described herein.

[0013] As used herein, the term “long lasting” means that the film lasts at least about 6 hours, such as at least about 12 hours, at least about 24 hours, at least about 48 hours or at least about 72 hours, after the film has formed on the skin.

[0014] As used herein, the term “duration” means that the film is substantially intact at the site on the skin.

[0015] As used herein, the term “forms quickly” means that the film forms within less than about 20 minutes, such as less than about 15 minutes or less than about 10 minutes, after the composition is applied to the skin.

[0016] As used herein, the term “obscure” with respect to skin imperfections means that the visual appearance of the imperfection is less visible.

[0017] As used herein, the term “tighten” means that the film contracts in a way that makes the skin feel tighter to the user and reduces the visual appearance of wrinkles on the skin.

[0018] As used herein, the term “soft focus” means that the visual appearance of the skin is more homogeneous and matte, leading to the obscuring or concealing of skin imperfections.

[0019] As used herein, “durable” means that the film will not come off easily, or be removed by sweat, water, makeup, lotions or the like, such that the film will remain substantially intact until removed by the user. Compositions Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, page 11 / 56 / 41

Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, p. 27 / 56 / 41 771.

[0077] Mother-of-pearls can be selected from white pearlescent pigments such as titanium-coated mica or bismuth oxychloride-coated mica, colored pearlescent pigments such as titanium mica with iron oxides, titanium mica in particular with ferric blue or chromium oxide, titanium mica with an organic pigment of the type mentioned above and pearlescent pigments based on bismuth oxychloride.

[0078] One or more colorants may optionally be included in the composition in an amount of up to about 5%, such as up to about 4.5%, up to about 4%, up to about 3.5%, up to about 3%, up to about 2.5%, up to about 2%, up to about 1.5%, up to about 1%, up to about 0.75%, up to about 0.5%, up to about 0.25%, up to about 0.2% or up to about 0.1% by weight, relative to the weight of the composition.

[0079] It should be understood that the greater the amount of dye added, the greater the effects of the film on the skin to conceal skin imperfections such as pores, pimples, dark spots and the like. Therefore, the qualified technician will choose an appropriate amount of dye for the composition, keeping in mind the intended use of the final formulation. Film

[0080] When the compositions according to the description are applied to the skin, at least one thermoplastic elastomer, at least one adhesive polymer, and at least one filler together form a matrix that creates a film on the skin. The films formed by the compositions described herein form rapidly, are long-lasting and durable, and have optical properties that are advantageous for a skin-tightening film, such as transparency, a matte effect, and a soft-focus effect that helps to obscure skin imperfections so that they are less visible.

[0081] Additionally, as discussed above, the compositions according to the description form a film that is harder than and this Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, p. 28 / 56 / 41, describes a method capable of stiffening human skin. Human skin has a Young's Modulus in the range of 10 kPa to 100 kPa; therefore, a film to stiffen the skin must have a Young's Modulus greater than 100 kPa. The films formed as compositions have a Young's Modulus greater than 500 kPa (0.5 MPa) in some embodiments, greater than 1000 kPa (1 MPa) in some embodiments, greater than 5000 kPa (5 MPa) in some embodiments, and even greater than 10,000 kPa (10 MPa) in some embodiments. Additionally, the compositions according to the description have sufficient consistency G* and a phase angle below 45° in order to form an effective and long-lasting film on the skin.

[0082] As such, the quantities and components of the composition must be chosen to provide a film on the skin that is able to tighten the skin, while also concealing skin imperfections.

[0083] In several exemplary embodiments, for the best film properties, it may be advantageous for the total amount of thermoplastic elastomer plus adhesive polymer plus filler to be greater than about 10%, such as greater than about 15% or greater than about 20%, by weight, of the total weight of the composition.

[0084] In other exemplary embodiments, for the best film properties, it may be advantageous for the quantities of thermoplastic elastomer and adhesive polymer to be chosen so that the thermoplastic elastomer:adhesive polymer ratio is in the range of about 1:10 to 10:1, in the range of about 1:5 to 5:1 or in the range of about 1:1 to 8:1.

[0085] Films can be formed quickly, for example, within less than about 30 minutes, less than about 20 minutes, less than about 10 minutes or less than about 5 minutes, after the composition is applied to the skin.

[0086] The films described may be long-lasting. For example, once the composition is applied to the skin and a Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, p. 29 / 56 / 41 film is formed, the film can remain substantially intact on the skin for a period of at least about 12 hours, such as at least about 24 hours, at least about 48 hours or at least about 72 hours.

[0087] The films can also be durable. For example, they may not come off with rubbing, they may not come off with sweat, or when the film comes into contact with water, makeup, lotions, or other products that the user may wish to apply to the skin. Methods

[0088] Methods of improving the appearance of the skin are also described, said methods comprising applying a composition as described to the skin in order to form a film on the skin. The methods comprise tightening the skin, for example, to get rid of or reduce the appearance of wrinkles, dark circles, etc., and / or obscuring or concealing imperfections in the skin, for example, to disguise pimples, pores, dark spots, etc.

[0089] According to various methods, different compositions can be applied to the skin to form films having different properties, such as compositions comprising larger or smaller amounts of pigments depending on whether skin imperfections may require more or less concealment, etc.

EXAMPLES Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, pages 32 / 56 / 41

[00100] The following examples are provided for illustrative purposes only and are not intended to be exhaustive.

[00101] In each of the following examples, the component quantities given are in terms of active material (AM). Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA)

[00102] The determination of the Young's Modulus of the films for all Examples was as follows. The film was made using an 8'' withdrawal rod to melt the solution onto a Teflon plate and the film dried at 40°C in an oven overnight. The TA Instruments DMA Q800FR was used to measure the stress-force response of the dried film. Deformation was applied from 0% force to 200% force at a rate of 100% force / minute at 32°C. Then, the Young's Modulus of the film was determined from the arc of the stress-force curve in the linear viscoelastic regime. Measurement by scanning electron microscopy (SEM)

[00103] The film sample for SEM was prepared using the same method as for the DMA measurement. Subsequently, the film was cut into a 5x5 mm piece and loaded in one stage with a double-sided carbon tape. The sample was scanned with a Hitachi TM-1000 Tabletop SEM. Rheology Measurement

[00104] The rheology of the sample solutions was measured using the AR-G2 Rheometer from TA instruments. The dynamic oscillation mode was used with the 20 mm diameter parallel plate in a 200 µm slit.

[00105] A force sweep from 0.001% to 1000% at an oscillation frequency of 1 rad / s was applied to the sample at 32°C. The values of the elastic modulus G' and viscous modulus G'' at 10% force were recorded for each sample measured. The complex modulus G* (consistency) and phase angle δ collected at 10% force (in linear viscoelastic regime) were Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, page 33 / 56 27 / 41 calculated from the elastic modulus G' and viscous modulus G” using the following equations: G* = J^Tg^ = arcta, Cloudiness and Transparency - BYK Cloudiness - Guard

[00106] The film was made using an 8-inch withdrawal bar to fuse the solution into a transparent plastic film and bench-dried for 3 hours. The BYK Turbidity-Guard instrument was used to measure the transparency and turbidity of the film. Gloss - BYK Glossmeter

[00107] The film was removed using an 8-inch stripping bar to fuse the solution into a transparent plastic film and bench-dried for 3 hours. The BYK Glossmeter was used to measure the gloss and opacity of the film. Film Permeability

[00108] The film was removed using an 8-inch removal rod to melt the solution onto a Teflon plate, and the film was dried at 40°C in an oven overnight. The film was removed and cut into 5x5 cm pieces. Each piece was used to cover the scintillation flask filled with 2 ml of water, and a piece of Parafilm was used to wrap the film piece on the side. The weight of each flask was measured immediately as well as at different time points. The water weight loss of different films was plotted at different time points, and evaporation was calculated by fitting the evaporation curve with a linear function. The water vapor permeability of the film (P) is calculated with the following equation, where ( is a water vapor permeation flux; is the film thickness, and is a water vapor pressure difference between the space sealed by the film in the flask and the outside of the film, which is the Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, pages 34 / 56 28 / 41 environment: P Contact Angle Measurement

[00109] The film was removed using an 8” removal bar to melt the solution onto a glass slide and bench-dried overnight. The contact angle of the film on the glass slide was measured using a Biolin Scientific Attension tensiometer. Drying Speed

[00110] The film was removed using an 8-inch removal bar to melt the solution into a clear, weighed plastic film regularly over a period of one hour. Internal Restriction

[00111] The film was removed using an 8-inch stripping bar to melt the solution onto a nitrile strip and allowed to dry for a period of one hour. As the film shrinks upon drying, the surface area of the nitrile strip is measured by image analysis. Transparency, Homogenization Strength and Whitening Strength MINOLTA Colorimeter

[00112] The film was made by fusing the solution onto a transparent plastic film using a stripping bar (2 mil) and left to dry on the bench for 1 hour. The Minolta colorimeter was used to measure the L, a*, b* and Y of the film and of a skin tone reference slide and black and white reference, in order to calculate the transparency, homogenization strength and bleaching strength of the films. Use and Coverage

[00113] The films were applied to the cheeks of 3 participants with pimples and pores along the nose / cheek area and left for 6 hours. The latter was evaluated before / after photographs. Brightness, pore concealment, and coverage of imperfections were assessed for periods before and after. Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, pages 35 / 56 29 out of 41 evaluated. Example 1: Association of Thermoplastic Elastomer, Adhesive Polymer and Filler

[00114] A thermoplastic elastomer, Kraton (25%), was dispersed in isoparaffin oil with a mechanical stirrer and heated to 90°C. Stirring continued at 90°C for 1 to 2 hours until all the Kraton polymer was dissolved and the polymer solution became clear. The desired amounts of oil dispersion (49% isododecane) and silica silylate were added to the Kraton / isoparaffin oil solution in the specified ratios in a plastic container, and the solution was mixed with a high-speed mixer at 2500 rpm / minute for 5 minutes. The final solution was kept at room temperature and sealed to prevent solvent evaporation.

[00115] The following Table 1 shows a comparison of the film formed from the compositions prepared according to the description (Ex. 1) and three comparative compositions (Ex. IC-1; IC-2; 1C-3). Table 1: Demonstration of the association of thermoplastic elastomer, adhesive polymer and filler for superior performance. [00116] The formulations and films were evaluated as presented above. From the examples, the G* consistency of the sample should be greater than approximately 100 Pa (at 10% strength) and the phase angle below Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, pages 36 / 56 30 / 41 of approximately 45° for best results, as the formula needs to be a gel to form good film properties. If the film is too fluid, it will be too thin and the performance will not be good. Therefore, Examples 1 and 1C-1 satisfy these conditions where G* > 100 Pa and the phase angle < 45°.

[00117] Example 1 has the best Young's Modulus and the best consistency, to provide a film having the best properties to stiffen the skin, demonstrating superior performance of the combination of thermoplastic elastomer, adhesive polymer and filler. Example 2: Thermoplastic Elastomer to Adhesive Polymer Ratio

[00118] The procedure for preparing the compositions of Example 2 is the same as described above for Example 1. The following Table 2 shows the comparison of the formulations according to the description and the films formed from them (Ex. 2a; 2b; 2c) and two comparative compositions (Ex. 2C-1; 2C-2). Table 2: Selection of optimal minimum / maximum thermoplastic elastomer:adhesive polymer ratio Ex. 2a Ex. 2b Ex. 2c Ex. 2C-1 Ex. 2C-2 Ratio—Kraton (AM):OD (AM) 5 1 0.25 1 0 HYDROGENATED STYRENE / BUTADIENE COPOLYMER 20.1% 12.1% 4.8% 24.2% 0.0% OILY DISPERSION 4.1% 12.1% 19.4% 0.0% 24.2% SILICA SILYLATE 3.0% 3.0% 3.0% 3.0% 3.0% ISODODECANE 38.3% 38.3% 38.3% 38.3% 38.3% C8-9 ISOPARAFFIN 34.5% 34.5% 34.5% 34.5% 34.5% Total 100.0% 100.0% 700.0% 700.0% 700.0% G*(10% strength) Pa 3389.3 1772 386.9 6494 3675 δ (10% strength) ° 34.8 35 31.5 28.0 35 Young's Modulus (MPa) at 32°C 13.7 29.8 78.2 8.0 43.5 CONCLUSION Acceptable film Good film properties Good film properties Very soft film Very fluid formula = Very thin film

[00119] The formulations and films were evaluated as presented above. From the results, Ex. 2a, 2b and 2c all have good consistency with G* > 100 Pa and a phase angle less than 45° as well as a Young's modulus >100 kPa. Ex. 2C-1 (without the oily dispersion) with the Young's modulus was very soft and Ex. 2C-2 (without the Kraton polymer) with Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, pages 37 / 56 31 / 41 The high Young's modulus was very thin. Therefore, the results showed that if the elastomer (Kraton) content is high, this can result in a very soft film, while with a high adhesive polymer content (oil dispersion), the formulation is very fluid. As a result, the film becomes very thin and the performance is not good on the skin. This shows that the ratio of thermoplastic elastomer to adhesive polymer optionally varies between 1:5 and 5:1. Example 3: Comparison of Different Adhesive Polymers

[00120] The thermoplastic elastomer, Kraton (25%), was dispersed in isoparaffin oil with a mechanical stirrer and heated to 90°C. Stirring continued at 90°C for 1 to 2 hours until all the Kraton polymer was dissolved and the polymer solution became clear. The desired amounts of adhesive polymer and silica silylate were added to the Kraton / isoparaffin oil solution in the specified ratios in a plastic container, and the solution was mixed with a high-speed mixer at 2500 rpm / minute for 5 minutes. The final solution was kept at room temperature and sealed to prevent solvent evaporation.

[00122] The films were evaluated as presented above. The results in Table 3 show that Examples 3a-3c, prepared according to Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, pages 38 / 56 32 / 41 with the description with different adhesive polymers, each provides films with good mechanical properties. Example 4: Effectiveness of Film for Concealing Skin Imperfections Example 4A: Composition

[00123] The procedure for preparing the composition of Example 4A is the same as described above for Example 1. The following Table 4A shows a composition prepared according to the description (Ex. 4a) to form a film on the skin. Table 4A: Composition for forming a film Ex. 4a Hydrogenated Styrene / Butadiene Copolymer 12.1% Oil Dispersion 12.1% Silicon Silylate 3.0% Isododecane 38.3% C8-9 Isoparaffin 34.5% Total 100.0% Transparency 90.5% Turbidity 91.4%

[00124] The film was evaluated as presented above. The high transparency and cloudiness achieved by the film prepared according to the description demonstrates the effectiveness of the film in obscuring or concealing skin imperfections. Example 4B: Effectiveness of the Film Formed

[00125] The film prepared according to Example 4A was applied to the skin of the eye area of 6 test subjects with grade 4 eye wrinkles and dark circles and 6 test subjects with grade 4 crow's feet. The film was allowed to dry for 10 minutes, after which improvements in the appearance of eye wrinkles and crow's feet were periodically assessed. The results are shown in Table 4B. Table 4B: Film effectiveness in improving skin appearance 10 minutes 30 minutes 3 hours 6 hours Under dark circles grade -2 grade -2.4 grade -2.5 grade -2.3 Crow's feet grade -2 grade -2.5 grade -2.4 grade -2 Under eye wrinkles -2.5 grade -2.5 grade -2.5 grade -2

[00126] The clinical assessment was based on a grading scale for eye wrinkles and dark circles (Skin Aging Atlas, vol 1, Caucasian type, Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, pp. 39 / 56 33 / 41 (Roland Bazin, Eric Doublet, Med'Com editions, 2007). The results in Table 4B demonstrate that the film prepared according to the description significantly improves the appearance of dark circles, eye wrinkles, and crow's feet. The results also demonstrate that over time, the improvement remains approximately constant, showing that the film provides long-lasting results. Example 5: Adding a Humectant to Improve Moisture

[00127] The thermoplastic elastomer, Kraton (25%), was dispersed in isoparaffin oil with a mechanical stirrer and heated to 90°C. Stirring continued at 90°C for 1 to 2 hours until all the Kraton polymer was dissolved and the polymer solution became clear. The desired amounts of adhesive polymer and silica silylate were added to the Kraton / isoparaffin oil solution in the specified ratios in a plastic container and the solution was mixed with a high-speed mixer at 2500 rpm / minute for 5 minutes, then glycerin was added and mixing continued. The final solution was kept at room temperature and sealed to prevent solvent evaporation.

[00128] The following Table 5 shows the evaluation of the film formed from the composition as described with glycerin (Ex. 5) compared with a comparative film of the composition as described but not containing glycerin (Ex. 5C-1). [00129] The films were evaluated as described above. The results in Table 5 demonstrate that the film formed from the composition as described and containing a humectant (glycerin) surprisingly does not negatively affect the mechanical or optical properties of the film, and even provided a moisturizing sensation to the film on the skin compared to the film not containing the humectant. Example 6: Adding Water

[00130] The thermoplastic elastomer, Kraton (25%), was dispersed in isoparaffin oil with a mechanical stirrer and heated to 90°C. Stirring continued at 90°C for 1 to 2 hours until all the Kraton polymer was dissolved and the polymer solution became clear. The desired amounts of adhesive polymer and silica silylate were added to the Kraton / isoparaffin oil solution in the specified ratios in a plastic container and the solution was mixed with a high-speed mixer at 2500 rpm / minute for 5 minutes, then glycerin and / or water were added and mixing continued. The final solution was kept at room temperature and sealed to prevent solvent evaporation.

[00131] The following Table 6 shows the evaluation of the films formed from the composition according to the description with glycerin (Ex. 6a) or with glycerin and water (Ex. 6b-6e). [00132] The films were evaluated as described above. The results in Table 6 demonstrate that, surprisingly, the addition of water to the composition improves the mechanical properties, intensifying the cohesion as seen by the SEM results. Additionally, the optical properties, such as transparency and soft focus, were not affected. Example 7: Addition of Silicone Elastomer

[00133] The thermoplastic elastomer, Kraton (25%), was dispersed in isoparaffin oil with a mechanical stirrer and heated to 90°C. Stirring continued at 90°C for 1 to 2 hours until all the Kraton polymer was dissolved and the polymer solution became clear. The desired amounts of oil dispersion (49% isododecane), silica silylate, and silicone elastomer (organic silicone blend DC EL-8040 ID at 18% isododecane) were added to the Kraton / isoparaffin oil solution in the specified ratios in a plastic container, and the solution was mixed with a high-speed mixer at 2500 rpm / minute for 5 minutes. The final solution was kept at room temperature and sealed to prevent solvent evaporation.

[00134] The film was placed on contrast cards with an 8 ml take-up bar. After drying overnight, the film was removed for BMA measurements or simply retained as a substrate for optical effects.

[00135] The following Table 7 shows the evaluation of the film formed from the composition as described with a silicone elastomer (Ex. 7) compared with a comparative film formed from the composition as described, but not containing a silicone elastomer (Ex. 7C-1). [00136] The films were evaluated as described above. The results in Table 7 demonstrate that the addition of a silicone elastomer improves the optical properties of the film, enhancing soft focus effects without negatively affecting transparency. Additionally, the film's water permeability is improved, as it is advantageous for sweat to pass through the film, allowing the stiffening properties to remain for a longer period of time. Example 8: Evaluation of Different Silicone Elastomers

[00137] The procedure for preparing the compositions of Example 8 is the same as described above for Example 7. [00140] The films were evaluated as described above. The Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, pages 44 / 56 Results 38 / 41 in Table 9 demonstrate that the addition of different silica particles provides improved mechanical film properties, as shown by Young's Modulus measurements. The improvement is even more pronounced with silicas with particle sizes larger than 100 nm and higher specific surface area. Optical properties, including soft focus and sebum absorption, are also improved. Example 10: Comparison of Different Filler Ratios

[00141] The procedure for preparing the compositions of Example 10 is the same as described above for Example 7. [00142] The films were evaluated as described above. The results in Table 10 demonstrate that different quantities of Aerogel particles provide satisfactory results. Example 11: Solvent Evaluation

[00143] The procedure for preparing the compositions of Example 11 is the same as described above for Example 7. The following Table 11 shows the evaluation of a film formed according to the description having a solvent with a vapor pressure of 1000 Pa at room temperature (Ex. 11) compared with a comparative film without a solvent. Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, pages 45 / 56 39 / 41 with a vapor pressure of 1000 Pa at room temperature (Ex. 1 IC-1). [00144] The films were evaluated as described above. The tightening effect of the film was evaluated after application to the skin of 5 participants under the eye area, who rated the tightening sensation as strong, medium, or low.

[00145] The results in Table 11 demonstrate that using a solvent with a vapor pressure of 1000 Pa at room temperature shows better results. As also seen, a solvent with a vapor pressure lower than 25 Pa at room temperature has worse results, although some stiffening is observed. Example 12: Addition of Pigments

[00146] The thermoplastic elastomer, Kraton (25%), was dispersed in isoparaffin oil with a mechanical stirrer and heated to 90°C. Stirring continued at 90°C for 1 to 2 hours until all the Kraton polymer was dissolved and the polymer solution became clear. The desired amounts of oil dispersion (49% in isododecane), silica silylate, silicone elastomer (organic blend of DC EL-8040 ID silicone in 18% isododecane), and pigments were added to the Kraton / isoparaffin oil solution in the specified ratios in a plastic container, and the solution was mixed with a high-speed mixer at 2500 rpm / minute for 5 minutes. The final solution was kept at room temperature and sealed to prevent solvent evaporation. Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, pages 46 / 56 40 / 41

[00147] The following Table 12 shows the comparison of formulations according to the description with pigments and the films formed from these (Ex. 12a; 12b; 12c) and two comparative commercial formulations. [00148] The films were evaluated as described above. Ex. 12a, without pigment, shows a high soft focus effect and a high matte effect to conceal pores. The film is long-lasting. Ex. 12b, with pigments, shows that the blurring and whitening strength is increased, and Ex. 12c, with ten times more pigments, shows even greater blurring and whitening for a greater soft focus effect, demonstrating a strong ability to conceal prominent skin imperfections such as pimples. Both Ex. 12b and Ex. 12c films are long-lasting. All of Ex. 12a, 12b, and 12c show better results in concealing and obscuring skin imperfections, while having a longer duration than that of comparative commercial formulations.

[00149] The results in Table 12 demonstrate that without pigment, the films have a soft-focus effect and are long-lasting with an ability to obscure skin imperfections, and with pigment, the films have a strong ability to conceal skin imperfections while Petition 870170053980, dated 07 / 28 / 2017, pages 47 / 56 / 41, remains pending for a long time.
