Abstract

Devices, systems, and methods are provided for the delivery of coffee-derived volatiles to a user, particularly for the treatment of addiction. The coffee volatiles are selected and delivered by devices and systems that allow for concentrated delivery to the user's olfactory system in a controlled manner. The olfactory system is the part of the sensory system used for odor or smell. The smell of such coffee volatiles in this prescribed manner stimulates the brain's reward system such that a specific desired result is achieved. In some further embodiments, the desired result is a reduction in addiction symptoms or suppression of a feeling of addiction withdrawal.
