Description

1 / 10 SOIL CUTTING, SUBSOILING AND SCARIFICATION MECHANISM FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[01] The present invention describes a mechanism for cutting, subsoiling and scarifying soil. More specifically, it comprises a mechanism assembled through a combination of a pair of cutting discs and a scarifying or subsoiling tine positioned on the inner portion, with the aim of breaking the mirrored cut of the discs, breaking up the soil and causing its particles to become loose and soft, creating a planting furrow suitable for accommodating the seeds and providing them with the best possible environment for germination.

[02] This new construction improves conditions for root development in plants, improving fertilizer distribution and bringing forward the planting time, even in still moist soils, with greater utilization, in addition to contributing to a significant increase in production in the planted area. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[03] A soil scarifier is an agricultural tool or machine used to scarify the soil. Scarification is a soil preparation process that involves loosening the topsoil without disturbing the deeper layers. This technique is frequently used in agriculture to improve soil structure, promote drainage, increase water infiltration, and allow for better plant root development.

[04] The soil scarifier is designed with sharp teeth or blades that penetrate the soil, breaking up compacted layers and loosening the Petition 870250092880, dated 10 / 10 / 2025, page 4 / 38 2 / 10 soil. This operation helps break up compaction caused by agricultural machinery traffic and other factors, allowing plant roots to extend more easily and access water and nutrients. Additionally, the scarifier can also be used to incorporate organic matter or fertilizers into the soil.

[05] It is important to note that scarification focuses on disturbing only the most superficial layers of the soil, preserving the structure and beneficial microorganisms present in the deeper layers. It is an essential tool in modern agriculture to improve soil conditions and promote better plant growth through the mobilization and aeration of the topsoil layers.

[06] Currently, the scarifiers available on the market are fitted with a single cutting disc with furrow opener, a cutting disc with a guillotine system or a cutting disc plus a double disc for fertilizers.

[07] Thus, the present inventor, seeking to improve application and usability, developed a system assembled using double cutting discs with an internal subsoiling shank, where the discs cut the straw and soil, and the internal subsoiling shank breaks up the layers of the planting furrow with minimal soil removal, contributing to the cultivation and recovery of degraded soils without the need for total cultivation, greatly contributing to the survival of soil microorganisms, to the environment, to the socio-economic development and grain production in the agricultural and livestock sectors, providing an advance for environmental conservation. Petition 870250092880, dated 10 / 10 / 2025, page 5 / 38 3 / 10

[08] This system is characterized as a strong solution for planting and for recovery and application of solid and liquid fertilizers and seeds conducted to the soil.

[09] In a search of the state of the art, we identified several documents claiming scarification systems, among which we can highlight the following documents:

[010] Document BR202016020616-8 (Jan. 2016) describes a multi-function machine, capable of operating as a subsoiler scarifier, soil acidity corrector and fertilizer distributor, comprising cutting discs, arranged frontally to the subsoiler scarifier tines with depth adjustment, wherein there are two conductors on each tine, where products from the reservoir are distributed, incorporating them into the same profile.

[011] Document BR102014028266-1 (Instituto de Agropecuária. 2014) describes a scarifier for deep strip tillage, which after a single pass allows the soil to be in suitable conditions for planting or sowing, operating with high energy efficiency, contributing to an improvement in the production environment. The scarifier comprises a plurality of tillage units, parallel and spaced from each other, where each tillage unit comprises a support structure on which corresponding tines are mounted, the lower ends of which are positioned at different heights, with the depth below the soil being greater towards the rear of the scarifier. The scarifier preferably incorporates a fertilizer application system.

[012] Document BR102013018153-6 (Marchesan. 2013) describes a soil scarifier comprising a disarming rod Petition 870250092880, dated 10 / 10 / 2025, page 6 / 38 4 / 10 equipped with a furrowing nozzle and a disarming rod support, the disarming rod being articulately mounted on the disarming rod support between a soil tearing position and a non-soil tearing position, the disarming rod having associated with it a disarming rod shaft, wherein the disarming rod shaft is at least partially enclosed by a protective cover within which the disarming rod shaft is capable of moving longitudinally between the soil tearing position and the non-soil tearing position. According to the present invention, a scarifier is provided in which its disarming shaft has physical protection against abrasive field elements, greatly increasing the service life of this component and reducing the need for scarifier maintenance.

[013] Document BRPI0806144-0 (Baldan. 2008) describes a device composed of a scarifying element that performs a longitudinal disengagement movement, returning to its original position after overcoming the obstacle. This invention was designed to provide an angular movement for overcoming objects without impact on the tubular system of the implement, given that it is fixed by pairs of bars. There is also the insertion of a screw that regulates the load exerted on the spring, thus providing an adaptation to different soil conditions.

[014] Document BRPI0403562-3 (Deere. 2004) describes a scarifier tip structure that includes a nose with a tapered top that initiates the lifting and fracturing of compacted soil layers. The tapered top with an included angle of approximately 100 degrees just ahead of the splitting wear leg creates a splitting stress that increases until the central portion of the soil profile is cut by a Petition 870250092880, dated 10 / 10 / 2025, page 7 / 38 5 / 10 sharp leading edge of the leg. In a winged embodiment, the gently angled scarifier tip wings gradually introduce the fracture plane left below the compaction layer and initiate a second fracture of the soil profile. The wings are spaced rearward from the tip so that the tip and wear leg have sufficient time to lift, fracture, and split the soil profile in contact with the shank before any wing steel.

[015] These documents cited in the state of the art describe constructive forms applied in scarifiers, however these documents do not describe a soil cutting, subsoiling and scarification mechanism equipped with a pair of discs that internally receive a scarifying tine that breaks the layers of the planting furrow with minimal soil removal.

[016] Thus, the present invention relates to a mechanism assembled by combining a pair of cutting discs and a scarifying or subsoiling tine positioned on the inner portion, with the aim of breaking the mirrored cut of the discs, breaking up the soil and causing its particles to become loose and soft, creating a planting furrow suitable for accommodating the seeds and providing the best possible environment for germination. This new construction improves the conditions for root development of plants, improving the distribution of fertilizers and anticipating the planting time, even in still moist soils, with greater utilization, in addition to contributing to a significant increase in production in the planted area. SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION Petition 870250092880, dated 10 / 10 / 2025, page 8 / 38 6 / 10

[017] These characteristics promote greater efficiency in breaking up the planting furrow layers, when compared with prior art documents.

[019] A characteristic of the present invention is a soil cutting, subsoiling and scarifying mechanism that provides a scarifying tine fixed to the support by means of screws.
