Description

79 METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PROCESSING THE TRANSMISSION CONFIGURATION INDICATOR, AND NON-TRANSIENTIAL READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM

[001] This description claims priority of the Application for Chinese Patent No. 202410065467.8, filed with the China National Intellectual Property Administration on January 16, 2024, entitled “TRANSMISSION CONFIGURATION INDICATOR TCI PROCESSING METHOD, APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM”, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety. TECHNICAL FIELD

[002] The present description refers to the field of communication technologies, in particular to a method and apparatus for processing ITC and a storage medium. FUNDAMENTALS

[003] In the mobility activated by L1 / L2 of the R18 (abbreviated as LTM (where L1 refers to Layer 1 and L2 refers to Layer 2), to further reduce LTM transfer delay, consider dynamically activating / deactivating, in advance, transmission configuration indicators (abbreviated as TCI) of several target candidate cells according to L1 measurement results. Thus, when a target candidate cell is selected as a target cell by one side of the network and carried in an LTM transfer command, a user device (abbreviated as UE) does not need to re-perform tracking, measurement, power control, and other processing on a reference signal (abbreviated as RS) associated with the TCI, thereby reducing the interruption delay. However, considering the transient nature of L1 measurement results, the beams of a currently activated candidate cell may become unavailable later, and the network side needs to deactivate some or all of the candidate cell's beams. [0077] In the embodiments of the present description, the term “and / or” describes an association relationship between associated objects and indicates that three relationships can exist. For example, A and / or B can represent the three Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, p. 27 / 112 / 79 following cases: A exists alone, both A and B exist, and B exists alone. The symbol “ / ” generally indicates an “or” relationship between the objects associated before and after it.

[0078] In the modalities of the present description, the term “plurality” means two or more, and other quantifiers are similar to it.

[0079] The technical solutions in the embodiments of this description will be described clearly and completely together with the drawings in the embodiments. Obviously, the embodiments described are only part of the embodiments of this description, and not all of them. Based on the embodiments in this description, all other embodiments obtained by a person of ordinary skill in the art without creative effort shall be within the scope of protection of this description.

[0080] The inventor found through research that the R18 supports a cell change mechanism based on L1 / L2 commands. The cell change mechanism based on L1 / L2 commands aims to implement a faster procedure than that based on an L3 command. Meanwhile, the cell change mechanism based on L1 / L2 commands is not limited to primary secondary cell transfer and change (abbreviated as PSCell), and is also applicable to SCell. To support mobility based on L1 / L2 commands, a service cell pre-configures, in advance, configuration information of a candidate cell for the UE via radio resource control messages (abbreviated as RRC). The UE performs an L1 measurement on a neighboring cell according to the received configuration and reports to the service cell. The service cell makes a transfer decision according to the measurement report.Prior to this, the service cell may additionally trigger the UE to perform timing advance acquisition (abbreviated as TA) for the target cell to acquire TA in advance. The valid TA value acquired is carried over in a... Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 28 / 112 / 79, requesting a cell change command from L1 / L2 to UE, in order to implement a cell change procedure without RACH and reduce the interruption delay.

[0081] In the R18 LTM, to further reduce LTM transfer delay, consideration is given to dynamically activating / deactivating TCIs of several candidate cells in advance according to L1 measurement results. Thus, when the candidate cell is selected as a target cell by a network device and carried over in an LTM transfer command, the UE does not need to re-perform tracking, measurement, power control, and other processing on an RS associated with the TCI, thereby reducing the interruption delay. However, considering the transient nature of L1 measurement results, the beams of a currently activated candidate cell may become unavailable later, and the network device may need to deactivate some or all of the candidate cell's beams. However, under the current mechanism, for a given candidate cell, activation of the candidate cell's TCI is supported, but deactivation of all TCI states under the candidate cell is not supported. This means that even if the candidate cell is not suitable as the target cell, the UE still needs to measure at least one TCI reference signal from the candidate cell, thus leading to additional UE performance requirements and additional power consumption for network devices.

[0082] The embodiments of the present description provide a method and apparatus for processing TCI, as well as a storage medium. A network device may send to a terminal device a medium access control element (abbreviated as MAC) configured to explicitly or implicitly enable or disable a TCI of a candidate cell. An explicit method adopted includes: the MAC CE carrying information Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 29 / 112 / 79, indicates how to activate or deactivate a TCI of a target candidate cell. An implicit method adopted includes: activating or deactivating a TCI of a target candidate cell according to a predefined MAC CE; or the MAC CE carrying cell identification information of at least one candidate cell to activate a TCI of at least one candidate cell. In this way, after receiving the MAC CE, the terminal device can dynamically activate or deactivate a TCI present in the MAC CE according to the MAC CE. Furthermore, the MAC CE may additionally not carry candidate cell identification information, and only carry identification information of a logical channel, so as to dynamically activate the TCI of the candidate cell corresponding to the identification information of the logical channel. Therefore, additional performance requirements for the UE and additional power consumption of the network device can be reduced.

[0083] The method and the device are based on the same application concept. Since they adopt the same principle, mutual reference can be made between the implementations of the method and the device, and repeated description will be omitted.

[0084] The technical solutions provided by the embodiments of this description may be applicable to multiple systems. For example, applicable systems may include a long-term evolution system (abbreviated as LTE), an LTE frequency division duplexing system (abbreviated as FDD), an LTE time division duplexing system (abbreviated as TDD), an advanced long-term evolution system (abbreviated as LTE-A), a universal mobile telecommunications system (abbreviated as UMTS), a worldwide interoperability system for microwave access (abbreviated as WiMAX), a 5G new radio system (abbreviated as NR), and evolved communication systems thereof. The wireless terminal device may also be referred to as a system, subscriber unit, subscriber station, mobile station, mobile, remote station, access point, remote terminal, access terminal, user terminal, user agent, or user device, as well as a wireless access device, a router, a modem, or similar. Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 31 / 112 / 79 that meet the limitations of the previous definition, which are not limited to the modalities of the present description.

[0086] A network device involved in the embodiments of the present description may be a base station, which may include multiple cells serving terminals. Depending on the specific application, the base station may also be called an access point, or it may be a device in an access network that communicates with the wireless terminal device through one or more sectors on an air interface, or adopt other names. [0087] The network device and the terminal device may each employ one or more antennas for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission; MIMO transmission may be MIMO Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 32 / 112 / 79 of single user or multi-user MIMO. MIMO transmission can be 2D-MIMO, 3D-MIMO, FD-MIMO or massive MIMO, or adopt diversity transmission, pre-coding transmission or beamforming transmission, depending on the shape and number of multiple antenna combinations.

[0088] In embodiments of this description, the description that a terminal device sends relevant information to a network device or similar expressions merely indicates that the terminal device transmits the relevant information in the form of a wireless signal, with the network device as the intended recipient. The network device can obtain the relevant information by receiving the wireless signal.

[0089] In some embodiments, a TCI processing method is provided, which is applied to a network device. Figure 1 is a schematic flowchart of a TCI processing method provided by an embodiment of the present description. As shown in Figure 1, the method mainly includes the following steps.

[0090] S101: Send a MAC CE to a terminal device.

[0091] At this stage, the MAC CE is configured to explicitly or implicitly enable or disable a TCI of a candidate cell.

[0092] In the TCI processing method provided by the embodiments of the present description, the MAC CE is configured to explicitly or implicitly enable or disable the TCI of the candidate cell. After the network device sends the MAC CE to the terminal device, the terminal device can dynamically enable or disable the TCI that appears in the MAC CE according to the MAC CE, thereby reducing additional UE performance requirements and additional network device power consumption.

[0093] In some modalities, an explicit method adopted includes: transporting, in the MAC CE, indication information to activate a Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 33 / 112 / 79 TCI of a target candidate cell.

[0094] Optionally, the MAC CE sent by the network device to the terminal device carries the indication information to activate the TCI of the target candidate cell. After receiving the MAC CE, the terminal device can activate the TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE according to the indication information.

[0095] In some embodiments, an explicit method adopted includes: carrying, in the MAC CE, indication information to disable a TCI of a target candidate cell.

[0096] Optionally, the MAC CE sent by the network device to the terminal device carries the indication information to disable the TCI of the target candidate cell. After receiving the MAC CE, the terminal device can disable the TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE according to the indication information.

[0097] For example, if the indication information matches the target candidate cell, when an indication information value is 0, the terminal device considers that all TCIs for the target candidate cell that appear in the MAC CE are in a disabled state and therefore disables all TCIs that appear in the MAC CE. When the indication information value is 1, the terminal device considers that all TCIs for the target candidate cell that appear in the MAC CE are in an enabled state and therefore enables all TCIs that appear in the MAC CE.

[0098] In another example, if the indication information corresponds to a TCI code point, when an indication information value is 0, the terminal device considers that a TCI corresponding to the TCI code point is in a disabled state and therefore disables the TCI corresponding to the TCI code point. When the indication information value is 1, the terminal device considers Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 34 / 112 / 79, states that the TCI corresponding to the TCI code point is in an activated state and therefore activates the TCI corresponding to the TCI code point.

[0099] In some embodiments, an implicit method adopted includes: activation of the TCI of the target candidate cell according to a predefined MAC CE.

[00100] Optionally, the network device sends the MAC CE to the terminal device. Upon determining that the MAC CE is the default MAC CE, the terminal device activates TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE.

[00101] For example, a protocol between the network device and the terminal device may stipulate that a MAC CE of a predefined length is configured to indicate TCI activation for the target candidate cell on that MAC CE. After receiving the MAC CE, the terminal device activates TCI for the target candidate cell on the MAC CE when a MAC CE subheader indicates that the MAC CE length is a predefined length and the MAC CE length matches the predefined length. If the MAC CE subheader indicates that the MAC CE length is the predefined length, but the MAC CE length is not the predefined length, TCI activation for the target candidate cell on the MAC CE is not performed.

[00102] In some embodiments, an implicit method adopted includes: deactivation of the TCI of the target candidate cell according to a predefined MAC CE.

[00103] Optionally, the network device sends the MAC CE to the terminal device. Upon determining that the MAC CE is the default MAC CE, the terminal device disables TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE.

[00104] For example, a protocol between the network device and the terminal device may stipulate that a MAC address of a certain length Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 35 / 112 / 79. The default setting is configured to indicate the deactivation of TCI for the target candidate cell in that MAC CE. After receiving the MAC CE, the terminal device deactivates TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE when a MAC CE subheader indicates that a MAC CE length is a default length and the MAC CE length matches the default length. If the MAC CE subheader indicates that the MAC CE length is the default length, but the MAC CE length is not the default length, the deactivation of TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE is not performed.

[00105] In another example, if the MAC CE does not include TCI state identifier information, after receiving the MAC CE, the terminal device disables all TCIs for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE.

[00106] In some embodiments, an implicit method adopted includes: the MAC CE carrying cell identification information from at least one candidate cell to activate a TCI from at least one candidate cell.

[00107] Optionally, the MAC CE sent by the network device to the terminal device carries the cell identification information of at least one candidate cell, and the terminal device can activate the TCI of at least one candidate cell upon receiving the MAC CE.

[00108] For example, due to factors such as occlusion and movement of the terminal device, it is necessary to switch the target cell and beam to ensure good signal quality of an SSB corresponding to the TCI. Therefore, the network device monitors in real time whether the TCI(s) corresponding to one or more candidate cells in the MAC CE sent to the terminal device is / are appropriate. If it / they are inappropriate, the network device needs to send a new MAC CE to the device. Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 36 / 112 / 79 terminal. Consequently, the terminal device can take the most recently received MAC CE as a basis and activate a TCI corresponding to the cell identification information carried in the most recently received MAC CE.

[00109] When the terminal device receives a MAC CE twice, each received MAC CE carries the cell identification information of at least one candidate cell, so the terminal device takes the most recently received MAC CE as the basis and activates a TCI of at least one candidate cell corresponding to the most recently received MAC CE. If the terminal device receives a MAC CE at a later time, and the cell identification information carried in the second received MAC CE is not included in the cell identification information carried in the first received MAC CE (the most recent time the MAC CE is received), the TCI(s) corresponding to one or more candidate cells in the second received MAC CE are considered to all be inadequate. Therefore, using the most recently received MAC CE as a basis, the TCI corresponding to the cell identification information carried in the most recently received MAC CE is activated, and the TCI corresponding to the cell identification information carried in the second-received MAC CE is deactivated. If the cell identification information carried in the second-received MAC CE is identical to the cell identification information carried in the first-received MAC CE, and the TCIs corresponding to the same cell identification information are identical, only the TCIs corresponding to part of the candidate cells in the second-received MAC CE are considered appropriate. Therefore, using the most recently received MAC CE as a basis, the TCI corresponding to the cell identification information... Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 37 / 112 / 79 transported in the most recently received MAC CE is activated, it is ensured that the state of the same TCI corresponding to the same cell identification information in the MAC CE received at the second time is the activated state, and the TCI corresponding to the different cell identification information transported in the MAC CE received at the second time is, consequently, deactivated.

[00110] Optionally, when the MAC CE carries the indication information to activate or deactivate the TCI of the target candidate cell, or when the MAC CE is the default MAC CE, the MAC CE is an LTM TCI early activation / deactivation MAC CE, and the LTM TCI early activation / deactivation MAC CE refers to a current activation MAC CE per candidate cell.

[00111] In an optional implementation, the current activation MAC CE per candidate cell may carry a candidate cell ID field corresponding to the cell identification information of at most one candidate cell, a Pi field corresponding to a code point, a D / U field, a TCI state ID field corresponding to the information of a TCI state identifier, and an R field corresponding to a reserve bit.

[00112] Candidate cell ID field: used to indicate the cell identification information of the candidate cell in the MAC CE, and the length of the candidate cell ID field is 3 bits.

[00113] The Pi field: used to indicate whether each TCI code point has multiple TCI states or a single TCI state. If the Pi field is set to 1, the i-th TCI code point has one uplink TCI state and one downlink TCI state. If the Pi field is set to 0, the i-th TCI code point includes only one downlink / joint TCI state or one uplink TCI state. The code point corresponding to the TCI state is Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 38 / 112 / 79 determined by your order in all TCI state ID fields.

[00114] The D / U (Downlink / Uplink) field: used to indicate whether the TCI status ID field in the same octet applies to the downlink / joint TCI state or the uplink TCI state. If the D / U field is set to 1, the TCI status ID field in the same octet applies to the downlink / joint TCI state. If the D / U field is set to 0, the TCI status ID field in the same octet applies to the uplink TCI state.

[00115] The TCI state ID field: used to indicate TCI state identifier information, which may also be referred to as TCI state identifier information. If the D / U field is set to 1, a TCI state ID with a length of 7 bits is adopted. If the D / U field is set to 0, the most significant bit of the TCI state ID is considered a reserve bit. A maximum number of activated TCI states is 16.

[00116] The R field is defined as: 0.

[00117] In some modalities, the indication information corresponds to the target candidate cell, and the indication information is used to indicate the activation of all TCIs for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE.

[00118] In this mode, the indication information can be indicated based on each candidate cell. A MAC CE carries only cell identification information for a candidate cell. Therefore, the indication information carried in the MAC CE sent by the network device can correspond to the candidate cell corresponding to the MAC CE, that is, the target candidate cell, and all TCIs that appear in the MAC CE are TCIs of the target candidate cell. The indication information can be used to indicate the activation of all Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 39 / 112 / 79 the TCIs that appear in the MAC CE. After receiving the MAC CE, the terminal device can directly activate all the TCIs that appear in the MAC CE according to the indication information.

[00119] In some modes, the indication information corresponds to the target candidate cell, and the indication information is used to indicate the deactivation of all TCIs for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE.

[00120] In this mode, the indication information can be indicated based on each candidate cell. A MAC CE carries only cell identification information for a candidate cell. Therefore, the indication information carried in the MAC CE sent by the network device can correspond to the candidate cell corresponding to the MAC CE, that is, the target candidate cell, and all TCIs appearing in the MAC CE are TCIs of the target candidate cell. The indication information can be used to indicate the deactivation of all TCIs appearing in the MAC CE. After receiving the MAC CE, the terminal device can directly deactivate all TCIs appearing in the MAC CE according to the indication information.

[00121] In some modes, when the indication information matches the target candidate cell, the indication information is carried in a reserve bit of the MAC CE.

[00122] In this mode, if the indication information matches the target candidate cell, a specific reservation bit in the MAC CE can be adopted to carry the indication information. After receiving the MAC CE, the terminal device determines whether to activate or deactivate all TCIs for the target candidate cell that appear in the MAC CE according to the indication information carried by the reservation bit. The MAC CE can be as shown in Figure 2.

[00123] Figure 2 is a schematic diagram of a MAC CE Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, p. 40 / 112 / 79, provided for in an embodiment of the present description. In Figure 2, the first octet in the MAC CE includes fields corresponding to reserve bits and a candidate cell ID field, where the reserve bit corresponding to an A field is used to carry the indication information. The second octet includes a Pi field (shown as P1, P2, ..., P8 in Figure 2) corresponding to the TCI code point. Each octet starting from the third octet to the last octet includes a D / U field and a TCI status ID field (shown as TCI status ID 1, TCI status ID 2, ..., TCI status ID N in Figure 2).After the terminal device receives the MAC CE, if the indication information carried in field A is used to indicate the activation of all TCIs appearing in the MAC CE, the terminal device activates all TCIs appearing in the MAC CE; if the indication information carried in field A is used to indicate the deactivation of all TCIs appearing in the MAC CE, the terminal device deactivates all TCIs appearing in the MAC CE.

[00124] Optionally, a prompt information value for activation is different from a prompt information value for deactivation. For example, if the indication information value carried by the reservation bit corresponding to field A is 0, the terminal device considers that all TCIs for the target candidate cell appearing in the MAC CE are in the deactivated state and, consequently, deactivates all TCIs appearing in the MAC CE. If the indication information value carried by the reservation bit corresponding to field A is 1, the terminal device considers that all TCIs for the target candidate cell appearing in the MAC CE are in the activated state and, consequently, activates all TCIs appearing in the MAC CE.

[00125] In some modes, the indication information corresponds to a TCI code point, and the indication information Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 41 / 112 / 79 are used to indicate whether a TCI code point state corresponding to the indication information is an activated state or a deactivated state.

[00126] In this mode, the indication information can also be indicated based on each TCI code point. In this way, the indication information corresponding to each TCI code point can indicate whether the state of the TCI code point is an activated state or a deactivated state, in order to determine whether the corresponding TCI should be activated or deactivated.

[00127] Optionally, with the indication information carried in the MAC CE, dynamic activation or deactivation of the TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE can be implemented. Therefore, the additional UE performance requirements and the additional power consumption of the network device can be reduced.

[00128] In some modes, when the indication information corresponds to the TCI code point, the indication information is carried in N consecutive reserve bits in the MAC CE, and a value of N depends on the number of TCI code points indicated in the MAC CE.

[00129] In this mode, if the indication information matches the TCI code point, a new octet can be added to the MAC CE, and the indication information is carried by N consecutive reserve bits in the newly added octet. The value of N depends on the number of TCI code points indicated in the MAC CE. For example, if the number of TCI code points indicated in the MAC CE is 8, then N equals 8. After receiving the MAC CE, the terminal device determines whether the state of the TCI code point corresponding to each indication information is an enabled state or a disabled state according to the indication information carried by the N bits of Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 42 / 112 / 79 consecutive reservations, in order to determine whether the corresponding TCI should be activated or deactivated.

[00130] Optionally, with the indication information carried in the MAC CE, dynamic activation or deactivation of the TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE can be implemented. Therefore, the additional UE performance requirements and the additional power consumption of the network device can be reduced.

[00131] In some embodiments, the TCI code point types include an uplink TCI code point, a downlink TCI code point, or a joint TCI code point. A sequence of occurrences of the indication information in the N consecutive reserve bits in the MAC CE is consistent with a sequence of occurrences of a corresponding uplink TCI code point, downlink TCI code point, or joint TCI code point.

[00132] In this mode, if the indication information matches the TCI code point, a new octet can be added to the MAC CE, and the indication information is carried by N consecutive reserve bits in the newly added octet. At this point, to facilitate the determination of the mapping relationship between the indication information carried by each reserve bit and each TCI code point, and thus accurately determine whether the state of the TCI code point corresponding to each indication information is the enabled state or the disabled state according to the indication information, the sequence of occurrence of the indication information in the N consecutive reserve bits can be kept consistent with the sequence of occurrence of a corresponding uplink TCI code point, downlink TCI code point, or joint TCI code point. The MAC CE can be as shown in Figure 3. Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, p. 43 / 112 / 79

[00133] Figure 3 is a schematic diagram of another MAC CE provided by an embodiment of the present description. In Figure 3, the first octet in the MAC CE includes a field corresponding to a reserve bit and a candidate cell ID field. The second octet includes a Pi field (shown as P1, P2, ..., P8 in Figure 3) corresponding to the TCI code point. The third octet is a newly added octet, including Ai fields (indicated as A1, A2, ..., A8 in Figure 3) corresponding to N consecutive reserve bits (where N is 8 in Figure 3), and the sequence of the Ai field is consistent with that of the Pi field (in Figure 3, A1 corresponds to P1, A2 corresponds to P2, ..., A8 corresponds to P8). Each octet, starting from the fourth octet to the last octet, includes a D / U field and a TCI status ID field (shown as TCI status ID 1, TCI status ID 2, ..., TCI status ID N in Figure 3).After receiving the MAC CE, the terminal device determines whether the state of the TCI code point corresponding to each indication information is an enabled state or a disabled state according to the indication information carried by the reservation bit corresponding to the Ai field, in order to determine whether the corresponding TCI should be enabled or disabled.

[00134] Optionally, a value of the indication information for activation is different from a value of the indication information for deactivation. If the value of the indication information carried by the reservation bit corresponding to field A1 is 0, the terminal device considers that the TCI code point corresponding to field P1 is in a deactivated state and, consequently, deactivates the TCI corresponding to the TCI code point. If the value of the indication information carried by the reservation bit corresponding to field A2 is 1, the terminal device considers that the TCI code point corresponding to field P2 is in an activated state and, consequently, activates the TCI corresponding to the TCI code point. Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 44 / 112 / 79

[00135] Optionally, with the indication information carried in the MAC CE, dynamic activation or deactivation of the TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE can be implemented. Therefore, the additional UE performance requirements and the additional power consumption of the network device can be reduced.

[00136] In some embodiments, the default MAC CE includes: a MAC CE subheader indicating that a MAC CE length is a default length, and the MAC CE length correspondingly being the default length.

[00137] In this mode, a protocol can be established between the network device and the terminal device, where the predefined MAC CE serves as a basis for indicating the deactivation of all TCIs for the target candidate cell that appear in that MAC CE. Therefore, after the network device sends the MAC CE to the terminal device, if the MAC CE subheader indicates that the MAC CE length is the predefined length and the MAC CE length matches the predefined length, the terminal device complies with the protocol stipulation to deactivate the TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE. If the MAC CE subheader indicates that the MAC CE length is the predefined length while the MAC CE length is not the predefined length, the deactivation of the TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE is not performed. Therefore, dynamic activation or deactivation of TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE can also be implemented in an implicit manner, thereby further reducing the additional UE performance requirements and additional network device power consumption.

[00138] Optionally, the default MAC CE can be a MAC CE whose length is the default length, that is, the MAC CE subheader indicates that the length of the MAC CE is the length Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 45 / 112 / 79 predefined, and the length of the MAC CE corresponds to the predefined length. The subheader of the MAC CE may be as shown in Figure 4.

[00139] Figure 4 is a schematic diagram of a MAC CE subheader provided by an embodiment of the present description. In Figure 4, the first octet in the MAC CE subheader includes an LCID field corresponding to the identification information of a logical channel, an R field corresponding to reserve bits, and an F field. The second and third octets include an eLCID field corresponding to the identification information of an enhanced logical channel. The fourth octet includes an L field, wherein the L field is used to indicate the length of the MAC CE, and the F field is used to indicate the size of the L field.

[00140] Optionally, the predefined length can be 2 octets, and a 2-octet MAC CE can be as shown in Figure 5.

[00141] Figure 5 is a schematic diagram of a 2-octet MAC CE provided by an embodiment of the present description. In Figure 5, the first octet of the MAC CE includes R fields corresponding to reserve bits and a candidate cell ID field. The second octet includes a Pi field corresponding to a TCI code point (shown as P1, P2, ..., P8 in Figure 5).

[00142] Optionally, the standard length can be 1 octet, and a 1 octet MAC CE can be as shown in Figure 6.

[00143] Figure 6 is a schematic diagram of a 1-octet MAC CE provided by an embodiment of the present description. In Figure 6, the first octet of the MAC CE includes R fields corresponding to reserve bits and a candidate cell ID field.

[00144] In some modalities, when the CE of MAC does not include Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 46 / 112 / 79 information from a TCI state identifier, the MAC CE is configured to disable all TCIs for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE.

[00145] In this mode, if the MAC CE does not include the information of a TCI state identifier (TCI state ID), but includes the cell identification information of the target candidate cell, it can be considered that an activated TCI for the target candidate cell is nonexistent, so that all TCIs for the target candidate cell that appear in the MAC CE can be deactivated. Therefore, additional UE performance requirements and additional network device power consumption can be reduced.

[00146] In some embodiments, when carrying the cell identification information of at least one candidate cell, the MAC CE additionally includes at least one of the following: at least one TCI code point corresponding to the cell identification information of each candidate cell, wherein a TCI code point corresponds to information from an uplink TCI state identifier, information from a downlink TCI state identifier, or information from a joint TCI state identifier;Information from a TCI status identifier corresponding to a TCI code point carried in a separate control field, wherein the information from a status identifier indicates the number of TCIs corresponding to the TCI code point or a TCI mode corresponding to the TCI code point, and the TCI mode includes a joint uplink-downlink mode or a separate uplink-downlink mode; information from a TCI status identifier corresponding to a TCI code point carried in a separate indication field when an uplink TCI status and a downlink TCI status are indicated; Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 47 / 112 / 79 separately, in which the information of a state identifier is information of an uplink TCI state identifier or information of a downlink TCI state identifier.

[00147] In this mode, the MAC CE sent by the network device may additionally carry the cell identification information of at least one candidate cell, in order to implement the activation or deactivation of a TCI of a candidate cell, or the simultaneous activation or deactivation of TCIs of multiple candidate cells, thereby reducing the additional UE performance requirements and the additional power consumption of the network device. In this case, the MAC CE may additionally carry at least one TCI code point corresponding to the cell identification information of each candidate cell, as well as information from a TCI status identifier that corresponds to the TCI code point and is carried in an independent control field. The information in a TCI state identifier can be used to indicate the number of TCIs corresponding to the TCI code point, or the information in a state identifier can be used to indicate the TCI mode corresponding to the TCI code point. The TCI mode includes the joint uplink-downlink mode or the separate uplink-downlink mode. If the uplink and downlink TCI states are indicated separately in the separate mode, the MAC CE may additionally include the information in a TCI state identifier that corresponds to the TCI code point and is carried in a separate indication field. The separate indication field may indicate whether the information in a TCI state identifier carried is uplink TCI state identifier information or downlink TCI state identifier information. The MAC CE may be as shown in the image. Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 48 / 112 / 79 Figure 7.

[00148] Figure 7 is a schematic diagram of another MAC CE provided by an embodiment of the present description. In Figure 7, two MAC CEs are included, namely, MAC CE A and MAC CE B.

[00149] In the MAC A CE, the first octet includes an R field corresponding to reserve bits, a P field, an Ntc field, and a candidate cell ID field i, where the P field is used to indicate whether a next candidate cell exists and its corresponding TCI, and the Ntc field i is used to indicate the number of TCI code points corresponding to candidate cell ID i. The second octet includes a Pi field corresponding to the TCI code point (indicated as P1, P2, ..., P8 in Figure 7). Each octet from the third octet to the last octet includes a D / U field and a TCI state ID field (indicated as TCI state ID 1, TCI state ID 2, ..., TCI state ID N in Figure 7).

[00150] In the MAC B CE, the first octet includes an R field corresponding to reserve bits, a P field, an Ntc i field, and a candidate cell ID field x, where the P field is used to indicate whether a next candidate cell exists and its corresponding TCI, and the Ntc i field is used to indicate the number of TCI code points corresponding to candidate cell ID i. The second octet includes a Pi field corresponding to the TCI code point (indicated as P1, P2, ., P8 in Figure 7). Each octet from the third octet to the last octet includes a D / U field and a TCI state ID field (indicated as TCI state ID 1, TCI state ID 2, ., TCI state ID N in Figure 7).

[00151] For example, taking the TCI set as an illustration, each TCI code point corresponds to a TCI status ID. The MAC CE received by the terminal device carries the candidate cell ID 1, the TCI status ID 1, and the TCI status ID 2 corresponding to candidate cell ID 1, and additionally carries the candidate cell ID 2 and the Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, p. 49 / 112 / 79 TCI state ID 3 corresponds to candidate cell ID 2. The terminal device considers that TCI state ID 1 and TCI state ID 2 corresponding to candidate cell ID 1 are in an activated state, and activates the TCI corresponding to TCI state ID 1 and the TCI corresponding to TCI state ID 2.

[00152] Subsequently, due to factors such as UE occlusion and movement, the network device finds that all TCIs corresponding to candidate cell ID 2 are unsuitable. In addition, besides the TCIs corresponding to TCI state ID 1 and TCI state ID 2 of candidate cell ID 1, the signal quality of synchronization signal blocks (SSB) of the TCIs corresponding to TCI state ID 4, TCI state ID 5, and TCI state ID 6 corresponding to candidate cell ID 3 is relatively high, which can serve as candidate target cells and beams for transfer. Therefore, the network device sends a new MAC CE, where the new MAC CE carries the candidate cell ID 1, as well as the TCI status ID 1 and TCI status ID 2 corresponding to candidate cell ID 1, and additionally carries the TCI status ID 4, TCI status ID 5, and TCI status ID 6 corresponding to candidate cell ID 3.

[00153] After receiving the new MAC CE, the terminal device takes the most recently received MAC CE as a base, and considers that the TCI status ID 1 and TCI status ID 2 corresponding to candidate cell ID 1 are in an activated state, considers that the TCI status ID 4, TCI status ID 5, and TCI status ID 6 corresponding to candidate cell ID 3 are in an activated state, while considering that the TCI status ID 3 corresponding to candidate cell ID 2 is in a deactivated state. Therefore, the terminal device activates the TCIs corresponding to TCI status ID 1 and TCI status ID 2 for the Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, p. 50 / 112 / 79 Candidate cell ID 1, and activates the TCIs corresponding to TCI state ID 4, TCI state ID 5, and TCI state ID 6 for candidate cell ID 3, and deactivates the TCI corresponding to TCI state ID 3 for candidate cell ID 2.

[00154] Optionally, if the value of the Ntc i field in the MAC CE is 0, all TCIs corresponding to the candidate cell ID i are disabled, so the octet in which the Pi field is located can also be omitted from the MAC CE.

[00155] In some embodiments, a TCI processing method is provided, which is applied to a terminal device. Figure 8 is a schematic flowchart of another TCI processing method provided by an embodiment of the present description. As shown in Figure 8, the method mainly includes the following steps.

[00156] S801: Receive a MAC CE from a network device, where the MAC CE is configured to explicitly or implicitly enable or disable a TCI from a candidate cell.

[00157] At this stage, an explicit method adopted includes: the MAC CE that carries indication information to activate or deactivate a TCI of a target candidate cell.

[00158] An implicit method adopted includes: activation or deactivation of a TCI of a target candidate cell according to a predefined MAC CE; or the MAC CE carrying cell identification information of at least one candidate cell to activate a TCI of at least one candidate cell.

[00159] S802: perform the activation or deactivation of the candidate cell's TCI according to the MAC CE.

[00160] In the TCI processing method provided by the modalities of the present description, the MAC CE is configured to explicitly or implicitly enable or disable the TCI of the candidate cell. After the Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 51 / 112 / 79 network device sends the MAC CE to the terminal device, the terminal device can dynamically enable or disable the TCI that appears in the MAC CE according to the MAC CE, thereby reducing additional UE performance requirements and additional network device power consumption.

[00161] In some embodiments, a TCI processing method is provided, which is applied to a terminal device. Figure 9 is a schematic flowchart of another TCI processing method provided by an embodiment of the present description. As shown in Figure 9, the method mainly includes the following steps.

[00162] S901: receive a MAC CE from a network device, wherein the MAC CE carries indication information to enable or disable a TCI of a target candidate cell, and the indication information corresponds to the target candidate cell.

[00163] S902: Perform activation or deactivation of all TCIs for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE according to the indication information.

[00164] In the TCI processing method provided by the embodiments of the present description, the MAC CE is configured to explicitly enable or disable the TCI of the candidate cell. After the network device sends the MAC CE to the terminal device, the terminal device can dynamically enable or disable the TCI that appears in the MAC CE according to the MAC CE, thereby reducing additional UE performance requirements and additional network device power consumption.

[00165] In some modes, the indication information corresponds to the target candidate cell, and the indication information is carried in a reserve bit of the MAC CE.

[00166] In this mode, if the indication information matches the target candidate cell, a certain reserve bit in the CE Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 52 / 112 / 79. The MAC address can be adopted to carry the indication information. After receiving the MAC address, the terminal device determines whether to activate or deactivate all TCIs for the target candidate cell that appear in the MAC address according to the indication information carried by the reservation bit. The MAC address can be as shown in Figure 2.

[00167] Optionally, the indication information can be indicated based on each candidate cell.

[00168] Optionally, if the indication information is used to indicate the activation of all TCIs for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE, the terminal device activates all TCIs for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE. If the indication information is used to indicate the deactivation of all TCIs for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE, the terminal device deactivates all TCIs for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE.

[00169] For example, if the indication information matches the target candidate cell, when an indication information value is 0, the terminal device considers that all TCIs for the target candidate cell that appear in the MAC CE are in a disabled state and therefore disables all TCIs that appear in the MAC CE. When the indication information value is 1, the terminal device considers that all TCIs for the target candidate cell that appear in the MAC CE are in an enabled state and therefore enables all TCIs that appear in the MAC CE.

[00170] Optionally, with the indication information Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 53 / 112 / 79 transported in the MAC CE, the dynamic activation or deactivation of the TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE can be implemented. Therefore, the additional UE performance requirements and the additional power consumption of the network device can be reduced.

[00171] In some embodiments, the indication information corresponds to the target candidate cell, and the indication information is used to indicate the activation or deactivation of the TCI corresponding to the information of a TCI state identifier carried in the target candidate cell's MAC CE.

[00172] In this mode, the indication information can be indicated based on each candidate cell.

[00173] Optionally, when the indication information is used to indicate the activation of the TCI corresponding to the TCI state ID carried in the target candidate cell's MAC CE, the terminal device activates the TCI corresponding to the TCI state ID carried in the target candidate cell's MAC CE. When the indication information is used to indicate the deactivation of the TCI corresponding to the TCI state ID carried in the target candidate cell's MAC CE, the terminal device deactivates the TCI corresponding to the TCI state ID carried in the target candidate cell's MAC CE.

[00174] Optionally, with the indication information carried in the MAC CE, dynamic activation or deactivation of the TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE can be implemented. Therefore, additional UE performance requirements and power consumption Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 54 / 112 / 79 additional network device costs may be reduced.

[00175] In some embodiments, a TCI processing method is provided, which is applied to a terminal device. Figure 10 is a schematic flowchart of another TCI processing method provided by an embodiment of the present description. As shown in Figure 10, the method mainly includes the following steps.

[00176] S1001: receive a MAC CE from a network device, wherein the MAC CE carries indication information to activate or deactivate a TCI of a target candidate cell, and the indication information corresponds to a TCI code point.

[00177] S1002: perform the activation or deactivation of the TCI corresponding to the TCI code point according to the indication information.

[00178] In the TCI processing method provided by the embodiments of the present description, the MAC CE is configured to explicitly enable or disable the TCI of the candidate cell. After the network device sends the MAC CE to the terminal device, the terminal device can dynamically enable or disable the TCI that appears in the MAC CE according to the MAC CE, thereby reducing additional UE performance requirements and additional network device power consumption.

[00179] In some modes, indication information may also be indicated based on each TCI code point. If the indication information corresponding to each TCI code point indicates that a TCI code point state is an enabled state, then determine to enable the corresponding TCI. If the indication information corresponding to each TCI code point indicates that the TCI code point state is a disabled state, then determine to disable the corresponding TCI.

[00180] For example, if the referral information matches Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 55 / 112 / 79, regarding a TCI code point, when an indication information value is 0, the terminal device considers that a TCI corresponding to the TCI code point is in a deactivated state and therefore deactivates the TCI corresponding to the TCI code point. When the indication information value is 1, the terminal device considers that the TCI corresponding to the TCI code point is in an activated state and therefore activates the TCI corresponding to the TCI code point.

[00181] Optionally, with the indication information carried in the MAC CE, dynamic activation or deactivation of the TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE can be implemented. Therefore, the additional UE performance requirements and the additional power consumption of the network device can be reduced.

[00182] In some modes, when the indication information corresponds to the TCI code point, the indication information is carried in N consecutive reserve bits in the MAC CE; where a value of N depends on the number of TCI code points indicated in the MAC CE; or a maximum value of N is 8 or 16.

[00183] In this mode, if the indication information matches the TCI code point, a new octet can be added to the MAC CE, and the indication information is carried over N consecutive reserve bits in the newly added octet. The value of N depends on the number of TCI code points indicated in the MAC CE. For example, if the number of TCI code points indicated in the MAC CE is 8, then N equals 8. The value of N can also be set to a maximum of 8 or 16.

[00184] Optionally, after receiving the MAC CE, the terminal device determines whether the state of the TCI code point corresponding to each indication information is an enabled state or a disabled state according to the indication information carried by the N bits of Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 56 / 112 / 79 consecutive reservations, in order to determine whether the corresponding TCI should be activated or deactivated.

[00185] Optionally, with the indication information carried in the MAC CE, dynamic activation or deactivation of the TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE can be implemented. Therefore, the additional UE performance requirements and the additional power consumption of the network device can be reduced.

[00186] In some embodiments, the TCI code point types include an uplink TCI code point, a downlink TCI code point, or a joint TCI code point. A sequence of occurrences of the indication information in the N consecutive reserve bits in the MAC CE is consistent with a sequence of occurrences of a corresponding uplink TCI code point, downlink TCI code point, or joint TCI code point. The indication information is used to indicate that a state of the TCI code point corresponding to the indication information is an enabled state or a disabled state.

[00187] In this mode, if the indication information corresponds to the TCI code point, a new octet can be added to the MAC CE, and the indication information is carried by N consecutive reservation bits in the newly added octet. At this point, to facilitate the determination of the mapping relationship between the indication information carried by each reservation bit and each TCI code point, and thus accurately determine whether the state of the TCI code point corresponding to each indication information is the enabled state or the disabled state according to the indication information, the sequence of occurrence of the indication information in the N consecutive reservation bits can be kept consistent with the sequence of occurrence of an uplink TCI code point, downlink TCI code point Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 57 / 112 / 79 descending link or corresponding joint TCI code point. The MAC CE may be as shown in Figure 3.

[00188] Optionally, a value of the indication information for activation is different from a value of the indication information for deactivation.

[00189] Optionally, with the indication information carried in the MAC CE, dynamic activation or deactivation of the TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE can be implemented. Therefore, the additional UE performance requirements and the additional power consumption of the network device can be reduced.

[00190] In some embodiments, a TCI processing method is provided, which is applied to a terminal device. Figure 11 is a schematic flowchart of another TCI processing method provided by an embodiment of the present description. As shown in Figure 11, the method mainly includes the following steps.

[00191] S1101: Receive a predefined MAC CE from a network device, where the predefined MAC CE is configured to enable or disable a TCI from a target candidate cell.

[00192] S1102: perform TCI activation or deactivation for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE, according to the predefined MAC CE.

[00193] At this stage, a protocol between the network device and the Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 58 / 112 / 79: The terminal device may stipulate that the default MAC CE is configured to indicate the deactivation of all TCIs for the target candidate cell that appear in the MAC CE. Therefore, after the network device sends the default MAC CE to the terminal device, the terminal device determines whether to deactivate all TCIs for the target candidate cell that appear in the MAC CE according to the protocol stipulation based on the received MAC CE.

[00194] Optionally, a protocol between the network device and the terminal device may stipulate that the default MAC CE is configured to indicate the activation of all TCIs for the target candidate cell that appear in the MAC CE. Therefore, after the network device sends the default MAC CE to the terminal device, the terminal device determines whether to activate all TCIs for the target candidate cell that appear in the MAC CE according to the protocol stipulation based on the received MAC CE.

[00195] Therefore, dynamic activation or deactivation of TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE can also be implemented in an implicit manner, thereby reducing the additional UE performance requirements and additional network device power consumption.

[00196] In the TCI processing method provided by the embodiments of the present description, the MAC CE is configured to implicitly enable or disable the TCI of the candidate cell. After the network device sends the MAC CE to the terminal device, the terminal device can dynamically enable or disable the TCI that appears in the MAC CE according to the MAC CE, thereby reducing additional UE performance requirements and additional network device power consumption.

[00197] In some embodiments, the default MAC CE includes: a MAC CE subheader indicating that a MAC CE length is a default length, and the MAC CE length being Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 59 / 112 / 79 correspondingly the predefined length.

[00198] In this mode, a protocol between the network device and the terminal device may stipulate that a MAC CE of a predefined length is configured to indicate the deactivation of TCI for the target candidate cell in that MAC CE. After receiving the MAC CE, the terminal device deactivates TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE when a subheader of the MAC CE indicates that a MAC CE length is a predefined length and the MAC CE length matches the predefined length. If the MAC CE subheader indicates that the MAC CE length is the predefined length, but the MAC CE length is not the predefined length, the deactivation of TCI for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE is not performed.

[00199] Optionally, a protocol between the network device and the terminal device may stipulate that a MAC CE of a predefined length is configured to indicate TCI activation for the target candidate cell on that MAC CE. Upon receiving the MAC CE, the terminal device activates TCI for the target candidate cell on the MAC CE when a MAC CE subheader indicates that a MAC CE length is a predefined length and the MAC CE length matches the predefined length. If the MAC CE subheader indicates that the MAC CE length is the predefined length, but the MAC CE length is not the predefined length, TCI activation for the target candidate cell on the MAC CE is not performed.

[00200] Optionally, the default MAC CE can be a MAC CE whose length is the default length, that is, the MAC CE subheader indicates that the MAC CE length is the default length, and the MAC CE length matches the default length. The MAC CE subheader can be as shown in Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 60 / 112 / 79 Figure 4.

[00201] Optionally, the predefined length can be 2 octets, and a 2-octet MAC CE can be as shown in Figure 5.

[00202] Optionally, the predefined length can be 1 octet, and a 1 octet MAC CE can be as shown in Figure 6.

[00203] In some embodiments, a TCI processing method is provided, which is applied to a terminal device. Figure 12 is a schematic flowchart of another TCI processing method provided by an embodiment of the present description. As shown in Figure 12, the method mainly includes the following steps.

[00204] S1201: Receive a MAC CE from a network device, where the MAC CE does not include TCI state identifier information.

[00205] S1202: disable all TCIs for a target candidate cell in the MAC CE according to the MAC CE.

[00206] At this stage, if the MAC CE does not include the information of a TCI state identifier (TCI state ID field), but does include the cell identification information of the target candidate cell, it can be considered that an activated TCI for the target candidate cell is nonexistent, so that all TCIs for the target candidate cell that appear in the MAC CE can be deactivated, thereby reducing the additional UE performance requirements and the additional power consumption of the network device.

[00207] In the TCI processing method provided by the embodiments of the present description, the MAC CE is configured to implicitly enable or disable the TCI of the candidate cell. After the network device sends the MAC CE to the terminal device, the terminal device can Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 61 / 112 / 79 to dynamically enable or disable the TCI that appears in the MAC CE according to the MAC CE, thereby reducing additional UE performance requirements and additional network device power consumption.

[00208] In some embodiments, a TCI processing method is provided, which is applied to a terminal device. Figure 13 is a schematic flowchart of another TCI processing method provided by an embodiment of the present description. As shown in Figure 13, the method mainly includes the following steps.

[00209] S1301: Receive a MAC CE from a network device, where the MAC CE includes only logical channel identification information.

[00210] S1302: disable a TCI from a candidate cell matching the logical channel identification information according to the MAC CE.

[00211] At this stage, the MAC CE may not include cell identification information for a candidate cell, but only logical channel identification information. It can be assumed that no candidate cell has a TCI enabled. Therefore, disabling the TCI of the candidate cell corresponding to the logical channel identification information can be implemented using this MAC CE, thereby reducing the additional UE performance requirements and additional network device power consumption.

[00212] In the TCI processing method provided by the embodiments of the present description, the MAC CE is configured to implicitly enable or disable the TCI of the candidate cell. After the network device sends the MAC CE to the terminal device, the terminal device can dynamically enable or disable the TCI that appears in the MAC CE according to the MAC CE, thereby reducing additional UE performance requirements and additional network device power consumption. Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 62 / 112 / 79

[00213] In some embodiments, a TCI processing method is provided, which is applied to a terminal device. Figure 14 is a schematic flowchart of another TCI processing method provided by an embodiment of the present description. As shown in Figure 14, the method mainly includes the following steps.

[00214] S1401: Receive a MAC CE from a network device, wherein the MAC CE carries cell identification information from at least one candidate cell to activate a TCI from at least one candidate cell.

[00215] S1402: perform TCI activation of at least one candidate cell according to the MAC CE.

[00216] In the TCI processing method provided by the embodiments of the present description, the MAC CE is configured to implicitly enable or disable the TCI of the candidate cell. After the network device sends the MAC CE to the terminal device, the terminal device can dynamically enable or disable the TCI that appears in the MAC CE according to the MAC CE, thereby reducing additional UE performance requirements and additional network device power consumption.

[00217] In some embodiments, when carrying the cell identification information of at least one candidate cell, the MAC CE additionally includes at least one of the following: at least one TCI code point corresponding to the cell identification information of each candidate cell, wherein a TCI code point corresponds to information from an uplink TCI state identifier, information from a downlink TCI state identifier, or information from a joint TCI state identifier; information from a TCI state identifier corresponding to a TCI code point carried in a separate control field, wherein the information from a state identifier indicates the number of TCIs. Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 63 / 112 / 79 corresponding to the TCI code point or a TCI mode corresponding to the TCI code point, and the TCI mode includes a joint uplink-downlink mode or a separate uplink-downlink mode; information of a TCI state identifier corresponding to a TCI code point carried in a separate indication field when an uplink TCI state and a downlink TCI state are indicated separately, wherein the information of a state identifier is information of an uplink TCI state identifier or information of a downlink TCI state identifier.

[00218] In this mode, the MAC CE sent by the network device may additionally carry the cell identification information of at least one candidate cell, in order to implement the activation or deactivation of a TCI of a candidate cell, or the simultaneous activation or deactivation of TCIs of multiple candidate cells, thereby reducing the additional UE performance requirements and the additional power consumption of the network device. In this case, the MAC CE may additionally carry at least one TCI code point corresponding to the cell identification information of each candidate cell, as well as information from a TCI status identifier that corresponds to the TCI code point and is carried in an independent control field. The information in a status identifier can be used to indicate the number of TCIs corresponding to the TCI code point, or the information in a status identifier can be used to indicate the TCI mode corresponding to the TCI code point. The TCI mode includes the joint uplink-downlink mode or the separate uplink-downlink mode. If the uplink and downlink TCI states are indicated separately in the separate mode, the MAC CE may include it. Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 64 / 112 / 79 additionally the TCI state identifier information that corresponds to the TCI code point and is carried in a separate indication field. The separate indication field may indicate whether the TCI state identifier information carried is uplink TCI state identifier information or downlink TCI state identifier information. The MAC CE may be as shown in Figure 7.

[00219] In some embodiments, a TCI state corresponding to the cell identification information carried in a MAC CE received at a first moment is an activated state, and the first moment is the most recent moment when the MAC CE is received.

[00220] In this mode, due to factors such as occlusion and movement of the terminal device, it is necessary to switch the target cell and the beam to ensure good signal quality of an SSB corresponding to the TCI. Therefore, the network device monitors in real time whether the TCI(s) corresponding to one or more candidate cells in the MAC CE sent to the terminal device is / are appropriate. If it / they are inappropriate, the network device needs to send a new MAC CE to the terminal device. Consequently, the terminal device can take the most recently received MAC CE as a basis and activate a TCI corresponding to the cell identification information carried in the most recently received MAC CE.

[00221] In some embodiments, if a MAC CE is received at a later time, and the cell identification information carried in the MAC CE is not included in the cell identification information carried in the MAC CE received at the first time, then a TCI state corresponding to the cell identification information carried in the MAC CE received at the second time will be used. Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 65 / 112 / 79 moment is a deactivated state, in which the second moment is prior to the first moment.

[00222] In this mode, the network device can send the MAC CE to the terminal device multiple times. After sending the MAC CE to the terminal device a second time, if it detects that the TCI(s) corresponding to one or more candidate cells in the MAC CE sent a second time is / are inadequate, the network device can send a new MAC CE (i.e., the MAC CE sent the first time) to the terminal device. The terminal device takes the cell identification information carried in the most recently received MAC CE and the corresponding TCI as a basis, and activates the TCI corresponding to the cell identification information carried in the most recently received MAC CE.Therefore, while implementing dynamic TCI activation or deactivation for the target candidate cell in the MAC CE and reducing additional UE performance requirements and additional network device power consumption, it can also ensure stronger SSB signal quality from a target cell's TCI to be transferred.

[00223] Optionally, if the terminal device receives the MAC CE at the second time, and the cell identification information carried in the MAC CE received at the second time is not included in the cell identification information carried in the MAC CE received at the first time, it is determined that the TCI(s) corresponding to one or more candidate cells in the MAC CE received at the second time are all inadequate. Therefore, based on the most recently received MAC CE, the TCI corresponding to the cell identification information carried in the most recently received MAC CE is activated, and the TCI corresponding to the cell identification information carried in the MAC CE received at the second time is activated. Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 66 / 112 / 79 is currently deactivated.

[00224] In some embodiments, if the cell identification information carried in the MAC CE received at the second moment is identical to the cell identification information carried in the MAC CE received at the first moment, and the TCIs corresponding to the same cell identification information are identical, then a state of the same TCIs corresponding to the same cell identification information is an activated state.

[00225] In this mode, the network device can send the MAC CE to the terminal device multiple times.

[00226] Optionally, if the cell identification information carried in the MAC CE received at the second time is identical to the cell identification information carried in the MAC CE received at the first time, and the TCIs corresponding to the same cell identification information are identical, it is considered that Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, page 67 / 112 / 79, states that only the TCIs corresponding to part of the candidate cells in the MAC CE received at the second moment are appropriate. Therefore, using the most recently received MAC CE as a basis, the TCI corresponding to the cell identification information carried in the most recently received MAC CE is activated, ensuring that the state of the same TCI corresponding to the same cell identification information in the MAC CE received at the second moment is the activated state, and the TCI corresponding to different cell identification information carried in the MAC CE received at the second moment is, consequently, deactivated.

[00227] For example, taking the TCI set as an illustration, each TCI code point corresponds to a TCI status ID. The MAC CE received by the terminal device carries the Candidate Cell ID 1, the TCI Status ID 1, and the TCI Status ID 2 corresponding to Candidate Cell ID 1, and additionally carries the Candidate Cell ID 2 and the TCI Status ID 3 corresponding to Candidate Cell ID 2. The terminal device considers that the TCI Status ID 1 and the TCI Status ID 2 corresponding to Candidate Cell ID 1 are in an activated state, and activates the TCI corresponding to TCI Status ID 1 and the TCI corresponding to TCI Status ID 2.

[00228] Subsequently, due to factors such as UE occlusion and movement, the network device finds that all TCIs corresponding to candidate cell ID 2 are unsuitable. Furthermore, in addition to the TCIs corresponding to TCI state ID 1 and TCI state ID 2 of candidate cell ID 1, the signal quality of the SSBs of the TCIs corresponding to TCI state ID 4, TCI state ID 5, and TCI state ID 6 corresponding to candidate cell ID 3 is relatively high, which can serve as candidate target cells and beams for transfer. Therefore, the network device sends a new CE of Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, p. 68 / 112 / 79 MAC, where the new MAC CE carries candidate cell ID 1, as well as the TCI state ID 1 and TCI state ID 2 corresponding to candidate cell ID 1, and additionally carries the TCI state ID 4, TCI state ID 5, and TCI state ID 6 corresponding to candidate cell ID 3.

[00229] After receiving the new MAC CE, the terminal device takes the most recently received MAC CE as a base, and considers that the TCI 1 state ID and the TCI 2 state ID corresponding to candidate cell ID 1 are in an activated state, considers that the TCI 4 state ID, the TCI 5 state ID and the TCI 6 state ID corresponding to candidate cell ID 3 are in an activated state, while considering that the TCI 3 state ID corresponding to candidate cell ID 2 is in a deactivated state. Therefore, the terminal device activates the TCIs corresponding to TCI State ID 1 and TCI State ID 2 for Candidate Cell ID 1, and activates the TCIs corresponding to TCI State ID 4, TCI State ID 5, and TCI State ID 6 for Candidate Cell ID 3, and deactivates the TCI corresponding to TCI State ID 3 for Candidate Cell ID 2.

[00230] Optionally, the MAC CE can be as shown in Figure 7, if the value of the Ntc i field in the MAC CE is 0, all TCIs corresponding to the candidate cell ID i are disabled, so the octet in which the Pi field is located can also be omitted from the MAC CE.

[00231] In some embodiments, when the MAC CE carries the indication information to activate or deactivate the TCI of the target candidate cell, or when the MAC CE is the predefined MAC CE, the MAC CE is an LTM TCI early activation / deactivation MAC CE, and the LTM TCI early activation / deactivation MAC CE refers to a current activation MAC CE per candidate cell. Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, pages 69 / 112 / 79

[00232] In an optional implementation, the current activation MAC CE per candidate cell may carry a candidate cell ID field corresponding to the cell identification information of at most one candidate cell, a Pi field corresponding to a code point, a D / U field, a TCI state ID field corresponding to the information of a TCI state identifier, and an R field corresponding to a reserve bit.

[00233] Candidate cell ID field: used to indicate the cell identification information of the candidate cell in the MAC CE, and the length of the candidate cell ID field is 3 bits.

[00234] The Pi field: used to indicate whether each TCI code point has multiple TCI states or a single TCI state. If the Pi field is set to 1, the i-th TCI code point has one uplink TCI state and one downlink TCI state. If the Pi field is set to 0, the i-th TCI code point includes only one downlink / joint TCI state or one uplink TCI state. The code point corresponding to the TCI state is determined by its order in all TCI state ID fields.

[00235] The D / U field: used to indicate whether the TCI status ID field in the same octet applies to the downlink / joint TCI status or the uplink TCI status. If the D / U field is set to 1, the TCI status ID field in the same octet applies to the downlink / joint TCI status. If the D / U field is set to 0, the TCI status ID field in the same octet applies to the uplink TCI status.

[00236] The TCI status ID field: if the D / U field is set to 1, a 7-bit TCI status ID is adopted; if the D / U field is set to 0, the most significant bit of the TCI status ID is considered a backup bit. The maximum number of TCI states Petition 870260074826, dated 07 / 28 / 2026, p. 70 / 112 / 79 activated is 16.

[00237] The R field is defined as: 0.
