Description

[001] This Utility Model refers to an improvement of a device that is installed between the back wall of a tipper truck bed and the chassis of a truck or trailer, or semi-trailer, among other road implements of the kind; with the objective of performing temporary locking between the tipper truck bed and said chassis, avoiding vibrations that are caused during the vehicle's transit, especially when the tipper truck bed is empty. State of the Art

[002] Road freight transport is an essential activity for the maintenance and development of societies in general; being essential for the maintenance of human subsistence, since all goods consumed are, at some point, transported by land, more particularly on highways, and even more particularly on trucks, which are equipped – on their chassis – with specific cargo boxes for each category of products. That said, it is worth highlighting that, due to its practicality for loading and unloading granular cargo – such as cereals, ores, fertilizers, among others – one of the most commonly used cargo box models for transporting grains is the tipper truck, which can be configured to be mounted on the chassis of conventional trucks, trailers, semi-trailers, and other road implements of the kind, as shown in patent document MU7201138.These cargo boxes are basically made up of a horizontal, parallelepiped-shaped metal box; the tipper body unloads cargo by means of hydraulic pistons, which raise one end of the body, tilting it, and thus... Petition 870250007716, dated 01 / 30 / 2025, pp. 117 / 129 2 / 4 forcing the load to flow out by gravity, through the lower end, which is fitted with a lid.

[003] In turn, it has long been observed that during the transit of dump trucks there is considerable vibration of the dump body on the chassis, especially when the dump body is empty, so that said vibration implies a continuous friction between the contact parts of the dump body and the chassis, causing wear, which eventually evolves into greater damage, such as cracks and even the breakage of mechanical elements, which generates considerable losses, in addition to risks of accidents. Objectives of the Invention

[004] With the aim of solving these inconveniences, the present utility model was developed, which proposes a novel device that is mounted on the chassis of the truck, trailer or semi-trailer, in a position that makes contact with the lower face of the bottom wall of the tipper, where a bearing is fixed. The said device operates in such a way as to temporarily lock the tipper onto the chassis, considerably reducing the occurrence of vibrations and their consequences. Description of the drawings

[005] For a better understanding of the present utility model, a detailed description thereof is given below, making reference to the attached drawings, where: FIGURE 1 illustrates the device in front view; FIGURE 2 illustrates the device in rear perspective; FIGURE 3 illustrates the device in exploded rear perspective; FIGURE 4 illustrates the device in side view, highlighting the fact that it is in the rest position (bucket). Petition 870250007716, dated 01 / 30 / 2025, pp. 118 / 129 3 / 4 unlocked); FIGURE 5 illustrates the device in a side view, highlighting the fact that it is in the operating position (bucket locked); FIGURE 6 illustrates in longitudinal section a tipper body mounted on the chassis of a semi-trailer, where the body and, consequently, the device, are in the unlocked position; and the FIGURE 7 illustrates a longitudinal cross-section of a tipper body mounted on the chassis of a semi-trailer, with the body and, consequently, the device, in the locked position. Detailed Description

[006] According to these illustrations and their details, the present utility model: IMPROVEMENT INTRODUCED IN A DUMP TRUCK LOCKING DEVICE comprises a horizontal base (B), at whose ends are fixed, perpendicularly, respective fixing plates (1) and (2) - on the chassis (C) - Wherein, in the region of the rear end of the upper face of the base (B) a rear bearing (M1) is fixed, in which the rear end (E1) of an elastomeric damper (A) is operatively mounted, which is arranged in a plane slightly inclined in relation to the base (B). On the other hand, in the region of the front end of the upper face of the base (B) a front bearing (M2) is mounted, in which a plate (P) is mounted by means of its central hole (F1); whereby the said plate (P) is provided with a second radial hole (F2), in which it is operatively mounted at the front end (E2) of the elastomeric damper (A).And since the plate (P) has a front cutout (R) with a shape similar to the letter “U”. In turn, the present device also comprises a third bearing (M3), which is equipped with a top fixing plate (3), and shaft (4). Petition 870250007716, dated 01 / 30 / 2025, pp. 119 / 129 4 / 4

[007] The operation of this IMPROVEMENT The INTRODUCED INTO A DUMP TRUCK LOCKING DEVICE is simple and practical. As illustrated in FIGS 6 and 7, the base (B) must be mounted on the chassis (C) - of the truck, semi-trailer, trailer, etc. - in a position parallel to the lower face of the dump truck bed's bottom wall (K); while the third bearing (M3) must be mounted in the same region of the lower face of the dump truck bed's bottom wall (K); in a position where the cutout (R) of the plate (P) faces the axis (4) of the third bearing (M3). Thus, when the dump truck bed (K) is raised - FIG 6 - the cutout (R) faces upwards, due to the action of the elastomeric damper (A), which is extended. On the other hand, at the moment when the bucket (K) is placed on the chassis (C), the shaft (4) of the third bearing (M3) fits inside the recess (R) of the plate (P), which is pushed downwards at an angle, causing the elastomeric damper (A) to be compressed, thus promoting temporary locking between the bucket (K) and the chassis (C), as illustrated in FIG 7.

[008] Logically, the present IMPROVEMENT INTRODUCED IN A DUMP TRUCK LOCKING DEVICE and its elements can be made with varied geometric shapes and proportions. The materials used can also be diverse, provided that the basic particular characteristics that are essential to its realization are maintained.
