Description
1 / 2 Polyethylene resin film with adhesive tape
[001] Low-density polyethylene resin film, known as stretch film, is widely used in industry as a protective wrapping for products or batches of products grouped on a pallet.
[002] Its application is normally done manually, with the employee in charge circling the pallet of products as he unrolls the roll of stretch film around it. However, since stretch film has little mechanical resistance when pulled, it is quite common for the film to tear during the operation when a little more force is applied.
[003] This application proposes a solution to this problem, presenting a configuration for stretch film that has one or more strips of adhesive tape incorporated along its entire length. The adhesive tape to be used is preferably BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene) with an adhesive film on one side.
[004] The present configuration is illustrated by the attached drawings, which represent: Figure 1 - Front view of the stretch film roll with adhesive tape. Figure 2 - Side view of the roller Figure 3 - Perspective view of the equipment adapted for the respective production. Figure 4 - Top view of the equipment Figure 5 - Schematic view of the application
[005] The consistent numbering of the drawings and this report refers to the following components: Stretch film Adhesive tape - Reel - Machine shafts for adhesive tape Rolls of adhesive tape - Roll of stretch film Petition 870250079384, dated 04 / 09 / 2025, page 6 / 9 2 / 2 Finished rolls of stretch film with adhesive tape.
[006] As can be inferred from the drawings, the present configuration is characterized by the application of one or more strips of adhesive tape (2) along the entire length of the stretch film (1) of a reel (3). Although the product already achieves its resistance effects with a single strip of adhesive tape (which, in this case, would be centered in relation to the roll), the tests carried out proved that the ideal configuration is that presented in the drawings, with two strips of adhesive tape (2), symmetrically positioned halfway between the center and the sides.
[007] For the production of the present film with incorporated adhesive tape, an adaptation of the equipment normally intended for rewinding a roll of stretch film into smaller rolls is used. The adaptation includes shafts (4), one on each side, for the rolls of adhesive tape (5), in such a way that during rewinding the adhesive tapes are incorporated into the stretch film, with their adhesive face adhering to it, resulting in the rolls of the finished composite product (7).
[008] As a result, the configuration now proposed for the film has much greater mechanical resistance than that of the isolated stretch film, not tearing easily with a simple pull, which makes it essential to use a cutting tool to cut the film at the end of an application.
