Description
1 / 4 IMPROVEMENT IN TRANSMISSION WITH REDUCTION FOR APPLICATION IN AGRICULTURAL IMPLEMENTS
[01] The present utility model describes an improvement in high reduction transmission suitable for installation in agricultural conveyors, mixers and crushers that features a hypoid gear with high reduction in one stage.
[02] Belt conveyors, silage crushers and agricultural mixers are essential implements for the efficient handling of materials in the agricultural sector, optimizing transport, processing and mixing operations. In belt conveyors, the drive system, combined with a reduction gearbox, ensures the continuous and uniform movement of large volumes of grains, fertilizers or forage, adjusting the speed and torque according to the material.
[03] In silage shredders, the force required to process bulky materials, such as corn and grass, is ensured by robust transmission systems, in which the reduction gearbox plays a vital role in adapting the engine power to the density of the material. Similarly, in agricultural mixers, which combine ingredients for animal feed, uniformity and efficiency in mixing depend on the controlled movement of the blades, provided by high-precision systems.
[04] In these agricultural equipment, power transmission systems with multi-stage reductions or worm gears are conventionally used, which have a simpler construction and high reductions. However, although the first alternative presents good efficiency, it has a high cost and more complex manufacturing due to having more parts. Petition 870250013097, dated 02 / 18 / 2025, page 5 / 15 2 / 4 furniture.
[05] Thus, in order to obtain a compact transmission, with lower weight and with transmission ratios that can vary from 15:1 to 360:1, the Applicant developed an improvement in transmission applied to agricultural implements that features a high-reduction hypoid gear, with single-stage reduction, i.e., all speed reduction and torque multiplication occurs in only one pair of gears, and with the input and output shafts in perpendicular planes. Although the technology for manufacturing this pair of gears is recent and requires dedicated equipment, with a high tooling cost and a manufacturing complexity similar to angular transmissions, it presents greater overall work efficiency.
[06] The utility model is characterized by an improvement in transmission for agricultural implements that provides compactness and lower weight compared to state-of-the-art solutions, reducing the effort required by traction systems, whether the electric motor, hydraulic motor or the tractor's PTO.
[07] The utility model features an improvement in transmission for agricultural implements that provides transmission ratios that can range from 15:1 to 360:1, representing a significant advance in operational performance and resource savings.
[08] In order to better describe the improvement in transmission for agricultural implements, the following figures are presented:
[09] Figure 1A represents the perspective view of the hypoid gear and Figure 1B shows the front view. Petition 870250013097, dated 02 / 18 / 2025, page 6 / 15 3 / 4
[010] Figure 2 shows a cross-sectional view highlighting the hypoid gear positioned in a housing and highlighting the power input shaft for coupling a hydraulic motor (mh), cardan shaft (cd) and keyed shaft (ch) for electric motors.
[011] Figure 3 shows a representation of the meshing of a worm gear (A), conventional bevel gear (B), hypoid gear (C) and high reduction hypoid gear, object of the present invention.
[012] The improvement in transmission for agricultural implements, object of the present utility model, comprises a crown (10) with input and output shaft (10a) perpendicular to the axis (20b) of the pinion (20) located below the input shaft (10a) of the crown (10), characteristic of a hypoid gear, as represented in figure 1B.
[013] The crown (10) has spiral teeth (11) and the pinion (20) has spiral teeth (21) with an angle greater than the angle of the teeth (11) of the crown (10), which provides a larger contact area and better tooth resistance, providing the transmission of more torque and the use of high transmission ratios. The high angle of the spiral teeth (21) of the pinion (20) allows said pinion (20) to maintain a reduced size, while providing high resistance, thus allowing it to be used with greater displacement, unlike conventional hypoid gears where a larger angle of the turns results in an increase in the dimensions of the pinion, since the high displacement requires a considerably greater effort on this component.
[014] In this condition, the axis (20b) of the pinion (20) is positioned so that the distance with the axis (10a) of the crown (10) is α, where α is a value greater than the distance between the axes of the crown and the pinion of a Petition 870250013097, dated 02 / 18 / 2025, page 7 / 15 4 / 4 conventional hypoid gear (C) (designated in figure 3 as aC), and the face angle of the crown (10) is the same, regardless of the ratio, whenever the axes (10a) and (20b) are at 90°, as shown in figure 3.
[015] The power input shaft (20b) allows coupling of hydraulic motor (mh), cardan shaft (cd) or keyed shaft (ch) for electric motors. Petition 870250013097, dated 02 / 18 / 2025, page 8 / 15
