[001] This Utility Model Patent, belonging to the area of ​​equipment and supplies for use in the fields of Agronomic Engineering and Agricultural Engineering, refers to an innovative constructive arrangement to be applied to a retractable ruler, intended for use in research fields, farm research, crop management and monitoring, in order to facilitate and expedite the process of agricultural evaluations, especially in soybean trials, through the precise measurement of plant height and analysis of the lower canopy, seeking to offer a practical, safe and efficient solution for agricultural management. FUNDAMENTALS OF THE INVENTION

[002] Currently, with the development and control of planting techniques, solutions have been developed for each need that arises in the sector and, in particular, in this case, means to accurately measure plant height in order to improve the technical efficiency of the sector. STATE OF THE ART

[003] To assess the state of the art regarding the present subject, several searches were carried out in the available patent databases, in which documents were identified that will be briefly described and commented on below.

[004] Document (1), MU7102016-0, filed on 09 / 09 / 1991 and entitled “TELESCOPIC ROD FOR PAINTING SERVICES”, refers to a rod consisting of tubular, cylindrical segments of decreasing diameters, capable of fitting inside each other and equipped with threads at their ends, which lock them in the open position.

[005] Document (2), PI0412206-2, filed on 06 / 25 / 2004 and entitled LOCKING DEVICE FOR A TELESCOPIC HANDLE OF A CHILD'S STROLLER, refers to a device Petition 870250013921, dated 20 / 02 / 2025, page 5 / 13 2 / 4 locking mechanism for a telescopic rod for a trolley wherein the rod comprises an inner rod and an outer rod, which can slide inside each other, characterized in that a friction element is disposed on the outer rod and the inner rod is equipped with a locking element gripping inside the friction element and locking the displacement of the inner rod relative to the outer rod, in that the locking element presses against the friction element of the housing with a conical area connected with a bar extending from the housing at the upper end of the inner rod and connected with a handle that influences the position of the housing.

[006] Document (3) PI8300639-7, filed on 09 / 02 / 1983 and entitled “RETRACTABLE ALTIMETRIC RULER”, refers to an instrument developed to perform forest measurements, which provides a direct and precise reading of tree height. The ruler is composed of retractable sections, with the exception of the innermost one, equipped with viewing windows and the outermost one has a transparent plate marked with a vernier scale attached. The sections are equipped with lower external and upper internal bushings that guide the direction of the sections and upper internal and lower external locks that limit the travel. The scale of the internal sections and the auxiliary scale are marked in reverse, so that the measurement is always started from the innermost sections.

[007] Of the three documents cited, (1) has cylindrical tubes that adjust telescopically to increase their total length. Document (2) describes a fastening piece between two concentric tubes to adjust the opening between the two. Document (3) describes a square profile ruler with concentric sections and equipped with locking and vernier scale type reading marking, this being the closest to the present application without, however, being conflicting with the subject matter described.

[008] In addition, two other alternatives to the present application are known on the market. The first refers to a wooden stick with a 90 cm scale and an ergonomic grip. The second refers to a ruler. Petition 870250013921, dated 20 / 02 / 2025, p. 6 / 13 3 / 4 scale folding cane, using the same quick-folding system used in assistive canes for the visually impaired.

[009] The present application filed with this institute as a Utility Model proposes a significant improvement over traditional measuring instruments by incorporating a retractable design. This allows the equipment to be easily transported and stored without losing the robustness and precision required for fieldwork. In addition, it maintains the strength and lightness provided by the aluminum material, ensuring durability and comfort during use.

[0010] This application solves the problem of transporting and storing fixed rulers, which take up more space and can be difficult to transport both inside a car and on airplane trips, since their small size when closed (62 cm) facilitates transport in backpacks or small compartments.

[0011] In order to surpass and differentiate itself from the state of the art, the present “CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT APPLIED TO A RETRACTABLE RULER” was developed, which, in order to facilitate the reading of the text, will henceforth be referred to simply as “RULER”. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING

[0013] According to the drawings, the present “RULER” consists of two concentric cylindrical tubes, an outer one (1) and an inner one (2), equipped, internally, with a rotating lock (not visible) at the junction between them and, externally, with a gradual and sequential scale in centimeters (3), wherein, in the inner tube (2), the scale goes from 0 to 55 cm and, in the Petition 870250013921, dated 20 / 02 / 2025, page 7 / 13 4 / 4 outer tube(1), the scale(3) goes from 55 to 100 cm. The inner tube(2) is also provided with a tip(4) at its end and the outer tube(1) is provided with an anatomical handle(5) at its opposite end.

[0014] In the present “RULER”, the locking is done by rotation, when rotating the outer tube(1) and inner tube(2) in opposite directions, the rotating lock (not visible) locks in position, allowing the device to be fixed in the open position, allowing the user to read the height of the plant. To close, simply unlock the rotating lock (not visible) and retract the inner tube(2) inside the outer tube(1) and lock the assembly again.
