Description

1 / 6 “BUILT-IN SUPPORT UNDER THE BOTTOM OF A PLANT POT”

[001] This descriptive report refers to a utility model patent application for a plate-type support with casters, for holding plant pots. The support, due to the constructive arrangement developed for its edge, when receiving the pot, remains completely embedded under the bottom of the latter, creating a totally innovative visual effect in the decorated environment. Technical comments

[002] Plants, in addition to being fundamental living beings for survival on the planet, are elements that, when living in residential environments, cause a great visual impact on human beings. Essential in homes, offices, and indeed, in any interior or exterior spaces of buildings, plants display their vegetative structures of growing stems and leaves, nourished by the nutrients of the substrate that supplies the tree fern pots or vases. They beautify and bring a sense of comfort through contact with nature, and the vase and plant combination can be arranged by the user or by professionals in decoration, landscaping, and architecture projects.

[003] Precisely because of its decorative and necessary potential, the vase also stands out in this set, being produced from a variety of materials and processes, ranging from organic materials such as natural ceramic, glazed ceramic or varnished finishes to plastic, allowing for sophisticated designs. Concrete vases are suitable for larger plants, for example in industrial environments. Obviously, a more current material is plastic such as polyethylene which, through mold design, gives the vase the desired shape and countless types of finishes, imitating grooves, designs of any motifs, Petition 870250121370, dated 12 / 30 / 2025, page 14 / 26 2 / 6 colorful and patterned, imitating cement, ceramic, stone, etc. The pots can also be made of metal, natural fibers, glass of various kinds, porcelain, and fabric (of the knit type). They currently receive a series of prints, from the simplest to the most sophisticated, or even in mold designs, in addition to the addition of pigment (when produced in plastic), acquiring a wide variety of colors, forming, in themselves, elements of great decorative presence, also contributing with their beauty to the display of the plant in the environment.

[004] The long list cited above shows the importance of pots for plants, which need an inseparable component, mandatory in indoor environments and often even in outdoor environments: the saucer to collect the irrigation water.

[005] Because it is a visually secondary element despite being important in collecting irrigation water, the saucer is made of plastic and in standardized colors such as black, gray, or some other color that generally does not match the bold shapes and surfaces of modern pots, thus becoming aesthetically out of place with the whole, as it is visible through its flat base and its standardized wall that surrounds the lower portion of the pot's body. The casters serve to move the pot if the plant needs to be changed location or even to keep the pot slightly suspended from the floor, facilitating cleaning of the area.

[006] For illustrative purposes, Figure 1 shows an image of a vase and saucer set, protected by patent document BR 2020190015395 entitled “ARRANGEMENT OF VASE AND SAUCER FOR PLANT”. As can be seen from this exemplary image in Figure 1, the body of the vase (1) has a pattern that, in its lower portion, is interrupted by the surrounding wall. Petition 870250121370, dated 12 / 30 / 2025, page 15 / 26 3 / 6 (2) of the plate, of standardized color and therefore does not match the arrangement.

[007] In an attempt to reduce or eliminate this surrounding wall, supports are produced which, as shown in figure 2, become crude, extending radially from their center, bolted arms which receive the screwing of the casters. Even so, these bolted arms leave their edges exposed, which are quite high under the lower portion of the vase.

[008] The same occurs with the supports shown in figures 3 and 4, also included for illustrative purposes only, which expose their thick edges, all compromising the decoration of the vase and plant set. Subject of the request

[009] To solve this limitation, the support in question is produced with a filleted edge, of minimal thickness so as not to appear under the bottom of the vase, leaving the decoration of the body of the latter fully exposed without compromising the aesthetics of the vase and plant set in the environment.

[010] Explained superficially, the support becomes more detailed.

[011] Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4, as already explained, refer to the state of the art.

[012] Figures 5 to 28 refer to the support that is the subject of this patent application in some of its geometric versions, with the minimum thickness, filleted edge: Figure 5 - perspective view of the round support, with section AA indicated; Figure 6 - section AA; Figure 7 - bottom view; Petition 870250121370, dated 12 / 30 / 2025, page 16 / 26 4 / 6 Figure 8 - side view, showing the angle of the filleted edge, of minimum height; Figure 9 - view of the stand, to which a plant pot has been aligned; Figure 10 - view according to the previous figure indicating the descent of the vase; Figure 11 shows the vase resting on the stand. According to this figure, with the vase positioned on the floor of the room, when viewed from above the observer will only see the plant and the body of the vase, and perhaps the casters. The stand, however, will be recessed without compromising the vase's decoration; Figure 12 - side view as per the previous figure, showing, in detail A, the ramp angle of the filleted edge, of minimum thickness; Figure 13 - shows a square support, to which a plant pot of the same geometry has been aligned; Figure 14 - view according to the previous figure indicating the descent of the vase; Figure 15 - shows the vase resting on the support, which is recessed. Detail A shows that only the body of the vase is visible to the observer in the environment; Figure 16 - side view according to the previous figure showing the ramp angle of the thin, filleted rim embedded under the square vase; Figure 17 - shows the support in another geometric variation, in the shape of a star; Petition 870250121370, dated 12 / 30 / 2025, page 17 / 26 5 / 6 Figure 18 - side view showing the ramp angle of the thin, filleted edge; Figure 19 - bottom perspective according to the previous figure; Figure 20 - shows the star-shaped support, to which an irregularly shaped plant pot has been aligned; Figure 21 - shows the irregularly shaped vase resting on the recessed stand. Similarly, the observer will only see the plant and the body of the vase when viewing the ensemble from above, in the environment. The stand is not visible, only its casters; Figure 22 - side view, showing the ramp angle of the thin, filleted edge; Figure 23 - shows the rectangular support, to which a plant pot of the same geometry has been aligned; Figure 24 - shows the rectangular vase before being placed on the stand; Figure 25 - shows the rectangular vase resting on the recessed stand. The observer will only see the plant and the body of the vase when viewing the whole from above, in the room; Figure 26 - side view showing the ramp angle of the thin, filleted edge; Figure 27 - view of one of the longer sides of the rectangular support; Figure 28 - bottom view of the rectangular support.

[013] In accordance with the attached figures, the “SUPPORT EMBEDDED UNDER THE BOTTOM OF A PLANT POT”, the subject of this patent application, consists of a support capable of being Petition 870250121370, dated 12 / 30 / 2025, page 18 / 26 6 / 6 produced by mold design in any materials, such as plastic, ceramic, metal and others, formed by a solid body (1), flat, of any geometry such as round, square, rectangular and other shapes, composed of upper face (2) and lower face (3) perforated by cutouts (4) interspersed with a hole (5).

[014] The solid body (1) receives, between the cutouts (4) and the central hole (5), on its lower face (3), the attachment of swivel castors (6).

[015] This lower face (3) has its central plane (7) delimited by a gradual reduction in thickness (8) which, as figures 8, 18, 22 and 26 show in particular, extends at an angle of 45° in a ramp configuration until it reaches the upper face (2) where it forms a filleted edge (9), of minimum thickness.

[016] For use, with the support on the floor of the room, supported by the casters (6), the vase (V) is aligned with its upper face (2) by the bottom (F) of its lower portion as shown in figures 9, 10, 13, 14, 20, 23 and 24. With the support, the bottom (F) of the vase (V) embeds the support which, by its thin, filleted edge (9), remains embedded because the set, vase and plant, is always seen from a higher point by the observer in the room, as shown in figures 11, 15, 21 and 25.

[017] Figures 12, 16, 22 and 26 in side view show the thin, filleted edge (9) of the support, under the bottom of the vase. In this condition, the thin, filleted edge (9) of the support will only be visible to the observer if they crouch down and look at the vase from the floor of the room, which is not a normal situation. Therefore, the support, because it is embedded and simply does not appear in the environment, solves an aesthetic issue of great importance when it comes to decorating environments with plants. Petition 870250121370, dated 12 / 30 / 2025, page 19 / 26
