The invention relates to an adapter (10) for attaching a railing post to a scaffold frame, comprising a plug-in element with a vertical section (11) and a plug pin (12) arranged at an angle to each other in a first plane (13), a fastening element (14) for attaching the railing post, which is connected to the vertical section (11), and a curved safety section (15) which is connected to the vertical section (11), wherein the safety section (15) projects out of the first plane (13) and the projection of the safety section (15) onto the first plane (13) extends from the vertical section (11) in the extension direction of the plug pin (12);and the fastening element (14) is connected to the vertical section (11), and extends in the first plane (13) opposite to the direction of extension of the dowel pin (12), or the projection of the fastening element (14) onto the first plane (13) extends from the vertical section (11) opposite to the direction of extension of the dowel pin (12).
