Abstract

The invention relates to a method for determining the permissible current-carrying capacity of a conductor in an overhead power line, which automatically determines and outputs the permissible current-carrying capacity of a conductor in an overhead power line at a current or defined time, taking into account a maximum permissible temperature of the conductor. In calculating the permissible current-carrying capacity of a conductor, climatic data or third parameter (3) determined at or in the immediate vicinity of the conductor, measurement data or second parameter (2), and first parameter (1) resulting from the technical design are taken into account.
