Abstract

The invention relates to a method for checking the surface condition of a polished reflective surface (5) of a watch component (11) by a control device (1), the method comprising the following steps: – projection onto said surface (5) by a projection module (3) of the control device (1) of a graphic representation (2) comprising a network of patterns (6a, 6b) alternately light and dark; – capture of at least one image comprising the graphic representation reflected by said surface (5) to a capture module (4) of the control device (1); detection by a processing unit (7) of the control device (1) of at least one defect on said surface (5) when the reflected graphic representation included in said at least one captured image is different from a reference graphic representation archived in memory elements (9) of this processing unit (7).
