Static screening system and methods

Abstract

Static screening apparatus that provides improved efficiency in removing smaller particles from larger particles. In one embodiment, a static screening apparatus incorporates two or more (e.g., multiple) stacked screening modules, allowing for the addition of extra screening capacity without significantly increasing the space requirements for the multiple screening apparatuses. In some embodiments, a static screening apparatus utilizes specialized synthetic screening surfaces that have an increased open area relative to conventional wire sieves and wedge-shaped wire sieves. The increased open area of ​​such synthetic screening surfaces provides more efficient separation of larger materials from smaller materials in static screening or sieve assemblies. In additional embodiments, a stacked static screening apparatus may incorporate synthetic screening surfaces.
