Method for automatically introducing the balance calibration state and load state

Abstract

A system includes a plurality of energy storage nodes and a control system for measuring and recording data from at least one component of interest within the system and determining the implementation of at least one battery balancing or calibration protocol for the control system for that component of interest. The protocol implementation is based on a predetermined value of at least one of the following parameters: raw measured data, time interval, or amount of energy transmitted by the component of interest. When calibration or balancing is deemed necessary, the operating state of the component of interest is changed to a state that permits calibration or balancing, respectively, and the state of charge is calibrated to the desired level or balanced to the desired state for that component.
