Abstract

A modular sealing system for an electric motor in a gearless mill comprises a movable seal support. By moving the seal support backward away from a rotor cover, maintenance tasks such as replacing a sealing element can be performed while the modular sealing system is still mounted. In some examples, the seal support can be additionally fixed to the rotor cover. This allows maintenance of other components that would otherwise require removing the stator cover without having to uninstall the modular sealing system.
