Abstract
A method and system for recovering heat from hot combustion gases and using that heat to regenerate a spent CO2 capture fluid are described. The system comprises, in descending order, a cooling section, an absorption section, a regeneration section, and a reboiling section. The invention introduces the addition of a heat pump configured to recover heat from the cooling section and supply heat to the reboiling section.
