Abstract

The lip-enhanced digging system includes an upward-facing surface (208) extending between two side sides (206). This upper surface (210) is raised relative to other parts thereof and has an inset upper surface (700) recessed relative to the upper surface. The inset upper surface includes a front flat bearing surface (708) inclined outward at a non-vertical angle and designed to bear against a bearing face (516) of a wear member (500), and an upper bearing surface (710) designed to bear against an upper leg (502) of the wear member. The digging system also includes a downward-facing surface (212) extending between the two side sides. This lower surface (213) is raised relative to other parts thereof.
