Device to protect row crops against weather risks

Abstract

A device (1) for protecting a row crop against inclement weather is disclosed, comprising a support (2) for means (9) for pulling a protective tarpaulin (4) between a rolled-up and a rolled-up position thereof. According to the invention, said pulling means (9) comprise a rolling-up and rolling-up mechanism (10) having a first end (7) attached to drive means (11) for the movement and a second free end (8), and means for attaching said tarpaulin, said mechanism being capable of rolling up the protective tarpaulin (4) in a direction parallel to the longitudinal direction of a row crop and in a direction perpendicular thereto when said drive means push the second free end (8) away from said first end (7) of the mechanism (10) and rolling it up when said second free end (8) is brought closer to said first end (7).
