Pollen collection device and method

Abstract

Pollen collection device for collecting pollen from crop plants comprising a housing assembly and a collection hopper, the collection hopper being located below the housing assembly in order to define at least one lateral passage between the housing assembly and the collection hopper, for receiving the pollen heads from the crop plants, the pollen collection device comprising a fan provided on the top of the housing assembly in order to create an airflow in the lateral passage in a radial and upward direction to force the pollen from the crop plants into the collection hopper through a side mesh wall of the collection hopper.
