Abstract

According to an illustrative aspect of the present invention, a sample analyzer (1) is provided comprising a rotating, disk-shaped sample carrier (3), wherein the rotating sample carrier (3) is rotatable about an axis of rotation in an operating direction, a stationary perimeter wall (4), wherein the rotating sample carrier (3) is disposed within the perimeter wall (4), a feeding system (2), wherein the feeding system (2) is arranged to feed sample material onto the rotating sample carrier (3), a limiter (7), wherein the limiter (7) is disposed above the rotating sample carrier (3) and separated from the rotating sample carrier (3) by a distance, and at least one sensor (8) for analyzing a layer of sample material (9).and a guide wall (6) disposed above the sample carrier (3) and extending radially inwards from the perimeter wall (4), thus forming a passage for the sample material layer (9) between a portion of the perimeter wall (4) and the guide wall (6) towards a first outlet (5) formed by an opening in the perimeter wall (4).
