Cast iron manufacturing method for stainless steel production

Abstract

This disclosure relates to a method for manufacturing cast iron for stainless steel production comprising: a step of forming a molten bath by charging and melting iron ore in a furnace body using an electric melting furnace comprising the furnace body, an arc-generating rod electrode, a raw material charging unit, a slag pouring port, and a metal pouring port; a step of charging a chromium ore and a nickel ore, a slag modifier, and a reducing agent from the top of the electric melting furnace through a central shaft of the rod electrode into an arc-generating region between a lower portion of the rod electrode and the molten bath; and a step of reacting the charged chromium ores and nickel ores, the slag modifier, and the reducing agent with the molten bath to melt and reduce them.
