Abstract

Wastewater treatment system and method, wherein the system comprises: a first treatment section that receives wastewater and delivers wastewater with smaller organic solids; a second microbiological treatment section with at least one aerobic subsection and at least one anaerobic subsection that delivers wastewater with low organic content; and a third treatment section that mixes the water with low organic content with an oxygen-containing gas to deliver water suitable for irrigation; the system further comprises at least one sensor operatively connected to at least one of said sections; and at least one processor operatively connected to the at least one sensor and configured to: receive sensor data; compare said sensor data with at least one threshold value; and control at least one operating parameter in response to said comparison.
