Abstract

A projector's light source driving device and method is to resolve the frame's flicker problem which is caused by the light source frequency and frame frequency's not matching, or by the dissimilarity phase. This device includes adjusting unit, driving unit and phase-locked loop and high-voltage mercury lamp. The adjusting unit provides program store enable, and will adjust the frequency of the program store enable according to the pilot signal. The driving unit will provide driving signal according to program store enable and the input voltage , and the frequency of driving signal will change as the result of the change of the program store enable's frequency. The phase-locked loop Lock will provide synchronous driving signal according to driving signal and vertical synchronizing signal .The phase of synchronous driving signal and the phase of the projector's frame field are synchronous. The high-voltage mercury lamp will provide the light source of the projector according to synchronous driving signal.
