Abstract

The invention provides a manufacturing method for super-long thickening end drill rod, comprising inner thickening, outer thickening and inner thickening again, wherein at least a pass deformation is carried out in each procedure and forging ratio of wall thickness in each pass is controlled in 1.1-1.5. As the number of thickness passes is added each pass upsetting pressure is deceased in 20-30bar less than the last pass. Heating temperature of thickening end in each pass is controlled in 1150- 1250deg.C, wherein the procedure of inner thickening is set in the first pass deformation. Upsetting pressure is controlled in 150-180bar and heating length is in 550-700mm. In other pass deformations heating length is from the starting point of deformation of thickening end to pipe end. Under the condition of very large deformed length the invention can eliminate the influence of length of thickening end by non-uniform wall thickness, avoid pipe abruption and concave bug generated at transition region of inner thickness and manufacture super-long thickening end drill rod.
