[0049] The present invention seeks to provide a surgical clip substantially as described in Applicant's co-pending US Application No. 09 / 592,518 entitled "Surgical Clip". The surgical clip is at least partially made of a shape memory alloy as is known in the art, and it can provide compression of the organ tissue along the entire periphery of the clip, thereby ensuring satisfactory attachment or anastomosis of the organ parts. The present invention also seeks to provide means for positioning and placing surgical clips which, moreover, are capable of perforating a portion of tissue held within the placed surgical clip, thereby creating an initial patency of the gastrointestinal tract.
