The invention relates to a control device and method for the oxic sludge age of a sewage treatment plant. The device is equipped with an aerobic tank, in which a sludge concentration meter and a thermometer are arranged. The end of the aerobic tank is provided with a sludge pump which is communicated with the bottom of the tank through a pipeline; the device is also provided with a controller that is in signaling connection with the sludge concentration meter and the thermometer and in controlling connection with the switch of the sludge pump. The method for controlling the oxic sludge age byusing the device comprises the following steps: 1) the control device is started, with parameters set; 2) the aerobic tank operates to a sludge discharging period T1; 3) the step 2) is repeated; 4) the tank operates for another period of time until a comparative period T2; 5) computing control is conducted in the controller; 6) the controller is used for controlling the starting time of the sludge pump to discharge sludge according to a newly generated sludge discharging t0; and 7) the steps from 2) to 6) are repeated. The invention is applicable to the sludge age control of the aerobic tank,and can control the sludge discharging period and improve the sewage treatment effect.
