Therefore, the spacer needs to include holding protrusions for realizing the temporary holding state and the full holding state, and bending spaces for allowing elastic deformation (or bending) of those parts of the spacer having the holding protrusions, and since these parts formation, so that the thickness of the separator increases

Abstract

Retaining projections are formed on and project outwardly in a right-left direction respectively from right and left side walls of a spacer. The retaining projections are used for achieving a provisionally-retained condition and a completely-retained condition of the spacer. When the side walls are elastically deformed, the retaining projections slide over respective retaining portions of a connector housing to thereby achieve the retained condition. The side walls which can be elastically deformed inwardly in the forward-rearward direction form portions of right and left outermost terminal passage holes, and therefore must hold respective metal terminals, respectively. Therefore, holding projections are formed on and project inwardly in the right-left direction respectively from the sidewalls. These terminal holding projections serve to hold the respective metal terminals in predetermined positions.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a connector having a spacer for holding metal terminals (housed in a connector housing) in a double manner. Background technique [0002] The related connector includes a connector housing having a plurality of terminal accommodation chambers, and metal terminals respectively accommodated in the terminal accommodation chambers, and each terminal accommodation chamber has a lance integrally formed on an inner surface thereof . The lance keeps the metal terminal from being removed when the metal terminal is accommodated in the terminal receiving chamber. [0003] However, in recent years, with the development of the multi-bar design of the connector, sufficient holding force for holding the metal terminal cannot be provided only by the lance, and thus a structure has been adopted in which the A divided spacer is attached to the connector housing so as to hold the metal terminals in a double manner (see, for example, Pat...
