[0040] The low-pressure mercury vapor discharge lamp shown in FIG. 1 comprises a tubular, light-transmissive discharge vessel 2 . Only one end 3 of the discharge lamp is shown in the figures, the actual discharge lamp comprises two opposite identical ends 3 each closing the long glass discharge vessel 2 on one side. The discharge vessel 2 closes the discharge space 1 in a gas-tight manner, the discharge space 1 being provided with a filling of mercury and a rare gas. Inside the discharge vessel 2 there is a layer of fluorescent material (not shown in FIG. 1 ), which is able to convert ultraviolet light into UV-A light and UV-B light and / or visible light.
