The invention relates to a hydrocyclone separator which is applied for liquid filtering, and especially to an adjustable hydrocyclone separator which can adjust the flowing direction of the liquid medium of a sand discharging port. The aim of the invention is to overcome a defect that the common hydrocyclone separator can not adjust the flowing direction of the liquid medium of the sand discharging port, and provide the adjustable hydrocyclone separator which can adjust the flowing direction of the liquid medium of the sand discharging port. The invention is mainly characterized in that the adjustable hydrocyclone separator is composed of a sand storing pot, a bottom flow filter element, a coupling flange, a middle casingand an upper casing. The sand discharging port, the bottom flow port, an overflow port and a water inlet are provided on the adjustable hydrocyclone separator. The raw water enters the upper casing through the water inlet along a tangential direction in normal operation. The large-particle solid impurity is separated out through the centrifugal force. The small-particle suspended substance in theraw water is discharged from the overflow port along with the water current. When the sand is discharged from the sand discharging port, the pressure of the bottom flow port is smaller than that of the sand discharging port, and the liquid medium flows from the sand discharging port to the bottom flow port.
