Abstract

The invention provides a method for setting reference signals in a multi-antenna system. In the method, a base station confirms a mapping pattern for transmitting downlink reference signals, wherein the mapping pattern comprises downlink reference signals mapped on a subcarrier group at different frequencies; the base station performs data mapping according to the mapping pattern and maps data to a corresponding antenna port; and the base station performs frequency hopping transmission on the downlink reference signals and transmits the mapped data through the multi-antenna system. By flexibly setting reference signals in the LTE-A system and configuring URS of the antenna port, the invention not only ensures the compatibility of the system, reduces the system complexity without affecting the performance and coverage of the system, but also reduces expenses caused by introducing reference signals to the minimum, improves the output of the system and improves the use ratio of the system to resources.
