Abstract

The capacitor has a housing that forms a closed chamber. A start capacitor is immersed into electrolytes that are found in the chamber. The operating capacitor is arranged in the chamber in a separated manner from the electrolytes. A fuse element (22) is provided for interruption of electrical supply of the start capacitor and the operating capacitor based on condition of the capacitors in the housing. The operating capacitor is designed as an inner capacitor. The fuse element is arranged in a container (23). An independent claim is also included for a method for electrical switch-off of start-and operating capacitors.
