The invention discloses a system for reducing trans-frame media stream resources, comprising universal machine frames, equipment units, interface equipment units and a resource management unit, wherein the universal machine frames are used for providing data communication for the equipment units, the equipment units are installed in the universal machine frames and used for running process instances, the interface equipment units are arranged in the universal machine frames and used for inputting and outputting processing data of the universal machine frames, and the resource management unit is used for preferably selecting the equipment unit or an equipment unit combination in the universal machine frames in which the identical interface equipment unit is located according to different types of services to allocate the process instances. The invention also discloses a method for reducing the trans-frame media stream resources. By virtue of the system for reducing the trans-frame media stream resources, the media stream resources transmitted among the universal machine frames can be greatly reduced, thereby the capacity of the system can be increased and the performance of the system can be simultaneously and effectively improved.
