Abstract

The invention discloses a method and equipment for manufacturing wheel tires. The method comprises the following steps of: a) constructing a basically cylindrical tire body structure (3) in a construction station (14); and b) manufacturing a basically cylindrical sleeve in a finished product station (17), wherein the sleeve comprises a tread belt (5) applied to the radial outside position of a belt ply (4), and the belt ply (4) comprises at least one belt layer (11a, 11b and 12); and the step b) comprises the following sub-steps of: b1) assembling a first belt ply (4) on a first auxiliary drum (19) of the finished product station (17) at a first working position (A); b2) applying the tread belt (5) to the radial outside position of a second belt ply (4) on a second auxiliary drum (20) preassembled in the finished product station (17) at a second working position (B); b3) arranging the first auxiliary drum (9) supporting the first belt ply (4) at the second working position (B); and b4) arranging the second auxiliary drum (20) supporting the obtained basically cylindrical sleeve at a picking position (C) of the finished product station (17).
