Abstract

The method involves determining a position of an apparatus (100) regarding to a gravitational field of earth using a sensor arrangement with two sensitive axles. The orientation recognition is selected in dependent upon the position of an apparatus relative to a gravitational field of earth. Acceleration values are measured such that offset is determined, and optimization of recognition of orientation takes place in dependent upon the offset. An angle between a plane that is vertical to a force direction (106) of a gravitational field, and a plane of picture screen (102) is computed. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for implementing the method.
