Abstract

The invention provides a call establishment method and a wireless heterogeneous network system for implementing the method. In the call establishment method, a call user can actively select an access network thereof in a call establishment process. In the backward call establishment method for a wireless heterogeneous network, the call establishment and vertical handover of the heterogeneous network are combined, so that the called user can actively select own preferred access network in a backward calling way in the call establishment process. Compared with the prior art in which the call establishment is required before a called user terminal triggers the vertical handover to actively select the access network, the invention reduces communication steps, vertical handover processing delay and in-system wireless link overhead.
