Embodiment approach

[0036] The second embodiment of the present invention, such as image 3 Illustrated includes ionization of desorbed molecules using a vacuum ultraviolet light source 19 in the first chamber 10 . Similar to the first embodiment of the present invention, a solid sample 8 is placed on a sample substrate 9 and desorbed to a gas phase state using a laser. The desorbed gas molecules enter the low-pressure first chamber 10 , where they are photoionized by the photons generated by the vacuum ultraviolet light source 19 . The photon energy generated by the vacuum ultraviolet light source 19 can be controlled within the range of 8.4 to 11.8 eV, and the specific size depends on the type of analyte to be measured and the required selectivity. The VUV light source can be a discharge lamp, an electron beam pumped exciplex vacuum UV lamp (EBELs), a VUV laser, or a synchrotron radiation source. Compared with the atmospheric pressure photoionization (APPI) technology, since the vacuum ultrav...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method and device for directly analyzing the generation of a sample and analyzing ions without pretreatment. The method comprises the following steps of: generating neutral molecules at atmospheric pressure; conveying the generated neutral molecules into a low-pressure area; and making the neutral molecules react with charged droplets sprayed from an electron spray needle point or photons emitted from a vacuum ultraviolet source in the low-pressure area for ionizing, wherein the ions generated in the process are converged and guided in an alternative electric field before being conveyed to a mass spectrograph or an ion migration spectrograph for further analyzing.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention generally relates to the process of generating and analyzing ions, and in particular relates to a method and a device for generating gaseous neutral molecules under atmospheric pressure and performing ionization in a low-pressure region. Background technique [0002] Mass spectrometry has been around for many years as an analytical tool that is effective in a variety of fields. However, the ionization process of samples is still a very important research area in order to meet the needs of the current growing applications. The emergence of matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization and electrospray ionization methods marks the widespread application of mass spectrometry in the field of biochemistry. Both of these methods, as well as other well-established ionization methods involving the analysis of solids or liquids, require complex sample preparation prior to ionization. [0003] Therefore, rapid detection ionization methods t...
